Isnt ready how?  Dirt Rally VR was great, as was Res Evil 7 VR.  Most of my favourite game experiences of the past year involved VR in some way.  It doesnt work for all games, but driving games is one that it absolutely does, as has been shown by 2 decent VR driving games this past year.

It's pretty well documented. Occulus even have comfort ratings for each app on their store (mild, moderate, intense) which I doubt they'd bother with if it didn't affect many people. It's completely ruined VR for me and I won't go back until they fix it.

You can't really, beyond taking drugs that suppress motion sickness. That or you design games that don't trigger motion sickness for most. Certainly increasing fidelity and resolution will likely only worsen matters.

Stuff like Farpoint got to me after half an hour or so but racing games haven't been a problem at all. For my money, racing games are improved massively by VR, even with the tech in its nascent state. Christ, I'd love a new Criterion racer with a proper VR mode. Why, god, why are there so few decent arcade racers this generation?

I'm sure I'd read that increasing frame rates and resolution would improve things, maybe I got that wrong.  Sadly for me they all affect me apart from ones where you stand still.

Don't get me wrong, the idea is great. And once they remove pixellation and improve FOV it should look amazing, but for games I think it'll be very limited.

Just finished the download. The visual are amazing. You can't play the game until Monday but if you leave the main menu up it plays replays etc. I don't even have a 4k HDR TV and I've been blown away. The lighting is phenomenal.

There are minimum framerate targets for VR to "work", but as far as I know, PSVR is already meeting those.  Below those can cause nausea, but above that, increasing doesnt have an affect, at least not in reducing it.  Similarly, the resolution can make a difference, and there were complaints about the screen of the DK1 for Rifts, but those were improved in DK2 and release, and I think the resolution of the screen is the same as PSVR uses.  Funnily though, FOV is a big contributor for a lot of people to the point where some games will narrow it automatically during harsh or quick movement.

Unfortunately I think for you what petrogirls said is the case - the technology improving wont help how it affects you, it'll need games that are designed around reducing things that can cause it as much as possible.

Took a while to download, but it's installed now.

Watching the "attract mode" there are some seriously lovely lit models.  They integrate into the photo backgrounds beautifully!

The rolling replays look amazing from outside the cars too.  I just watched a yellow BMW coupe racing round an oval against a varied field of opposition and it was stunning to behold.  The frame rate (regular PS4  on a 1080p TV) looked a bit ropey in places though.  But the detail on the models and lighting and feeling of "realness" - Wow!

Switching to interior camera the frame rate was significantly improved, but the graphics seemed to step down a fair bit.  The lighting on the track didn't look quite as polished and the cars were a bit more aliased.  And whats with the hands holding the wheel - very odd angles

Looking forward to trying out on Monday though!!  My wheel and pedals are ready!

As people have said, it’s probably not something that they can fix for you.

In the same way that I just find that Doom (2016) makes me want to hurl...

I always thought GT5 went OTT on the number of cars and they could easily have cut that huge number down (didnt play GT6). Sadly though, they went too far in the other direction. I may have been satisfied if there was at least one RX-7 in there, but nope.

The real world tracks I've seen mentioned really do appeal to me though, with the only one on my wishlist that isn't in game being Spa-Francorchamps (which was DLC for GT5).

Having skipped GT6 I'm more inclined to give this a miss that not, but hype is a factor. I don't have PS+ though so that basically means I can't play it anyway, lol.

I think the last time I was this blown away by graphics was on the GT5 demo on PS3 back in December '06.

Make no mistake, this is next level stuff. It will be interesting to see how Forza 7 compares when I get my X next month.

I don't think Forza can touch this graphically really.

But its always been a different game - very capable but for graphical realism and lighting Poly are on top of their game - even without HDR.

ISR report physics feel similar to Assetto Corsa so thats all good...I always thought Assetto was most similar to the GT games but with way better handling.

Demo is all downloaded and ready to go. 43 gig.

I was on the closed Beta but only played it a few times. To be honest I wasn't that into it because it's so sterile but if there is a release day buzz and the livery editing is as strong as forza then maybe I might be in.

Would love a wheel though I would settle for a controller mount for motion controls and maybe some blue tooth foot pedals if anyone decided to make them.

Not having a minor PS4 upgrade of GT6 was a big mistake. GT6 was much smoother than GT5, had tons of cars and tracks yet was too late in the PS3s life and so had much lower sales than GT5. Would have helped improved the tarnished GT brand after GT5 in time for this and subsequent releases.

I remember when GT6 was announced. During the summer and out by the end of the year. Very unlike the drawn out period most GTs see.

What gets me is, they waffled on after GT5 and 6 about the car models being so detailed that they would be suitable for a next gen console. So where the fuck are they?

A while ago they said that although the GT5/6 cars were still good, they wanted to start all over again - they are perfectionists, after all. Maybe the future also came at them a bit faster than they'd anticipated.

I recently played GT6 as my graphics card has died in my PC and I was looking for a racing fix,  things have moved on a long way with AC and PCars. I don’t think a minor PS4 upgrade would have cut it.

Unfortunately I don’t have a compatible PS4 wheel (thanks Sony, yes I’m still bitter!) so not sure if I’ll get GT.

Theres rumours abound PS3 wheels will work but we'll just have to see. I won't play GT any other way as its too sterile...although the graphics and new tracks are a big draw. Don't care so much about the lack of cars. I like lack of cars as it gives you time to actually drive the ones included rather then play them once and never again. That said there still seems to be plenty of same cars - just with slightly different weights and setups for classes.

Too many other racing games vying for my love - mostly Forza or Project Cars at the moment.

But Automobilsta has had a historic touring update and don't get me started on Rally games - it turns out WRC7 is rumoured to be up there with Dirt Rally.
