Cobra Kai - Season 3 moving to Netflix

Recommended Posts

Another revival! Ralph Macchio and William Zabka have bills to pay are back as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. After competition from mainly streaming services, it's going to YouTube Red, the YouTube subscription service.

Down-and-out Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai dojo and reignited his rivalry with a successful Daniel, who has struggles of his own. It's going to be a 10 episode half hour comedy series. Yes, comedy. Karate too of course. It's being written by the minds behind Hot Tub Time Machine and Harold and Kumar.

Hold on Disco, you're the one that thinks Karate Kid II is the best when, quite clearly, it doesn't exist. @Thread Astaire will confirm.

This on the other hand; no Mike Barnes, no deal.

Karate Kid > Karate Kid 2. End of Disco. You're wrong and will never be right on that. @smithstock @The Disco

You're both idiots.  Adrenaline junkies who will never get the spiritual side!

After watching the superb parody trailer for 'Wax On, Fuck Off,' on funnyordie's YouTube, I'd say this actually has potential.

There are people who actually subscribe to YouTube Red?

Yup. I gladly pay the $12 or whatever it is to not get a single advert when watching YouTube.

Hah that looks great! Looks like they've really taken it the right direction by flipping things on their head to make Johnny the underdog.

So the first two episode are free, then £1.89 per episode. Will give it a go and see if I fancy paying the price.

I'm five episodes in, it's legitimately excellent. It's a wholly plausible continuation of the story and gives real depth to both Danny and Johnny's character. I only expected to watch the two free episodes, but I keep on buying the next one and the next one. It's not nail biting, it's just a really good character driven story, with the perfect balance of drama, humour and enough winks to the past for the fans. I'm braced for being another £10 out of pocket by the ned of the day.
