HQ Nordic has finally announced Biomutant after it leaked earlier this week.

It's described as an open-world action RPG in which you combine mutant powers, bionics and weapons. You can change your character's abilities and appearance with mutations and bionic prosthetics. You can, for example, grow claws, sprout wings or attach a robotic leg. Each choice impacts the way your hero plays in real-time combat, which blends melee martial arts and firearms.

Biomutant is set in a post-apocalyptic universe filled with mechs, paragliders, balloons, mounts, jet skis and dangerous animals. It's developed by Experiment 101, a Swedish studio co-founded by Stefan Ljungqvist, a former studio art director and game director at Avalanche Studios and one of the key members on the team behind Mad Max and the Just Cause series.

Biomutant is due out on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2018. The teaser trailer is below.

People didn't like the look of Starfox Adventures?

I mean the game sucked in the end, but I remember the hype for it being very real.

The hype was real, then the dissapointment kicked in, so I doubt comparing it to that will do this game any favours.

Yeah, I haven't played this game, I was only really comparing to the look of it. Don't think anyone complained about the graphics of Starfox back in the day but maybe I'm wrong.

I love that the original release was meant to be 3 years ago. Ambitious much...

I've had this on an Amazon Wishlist since announcement. At this point I'll almost be shocked if it makes it out before it's 10th anniversary.

I saw this a while back and love the weirdness of it. It looks old school video gamey. I don’t think it’ll hold up but I’m willing to give it a go as I’m off work that week.

I do dread the thought of turning up at a town and having endless aimless speech with some really awkward dialogue and having to go to a favour for the blacksmith before he then opens his shop for upgrades , not to mention the chicken and the wolf that’s stalking the farmer and you’ll have to go into his barn to sort him out...

Oh video games.

Breath of the monster hunter?

I couldn't handle the absolute blethering in that video past about 5 minutes but it looks a bit like a fantasy set division type thing. Monster hunter but with guns?
