I didn't like it at the time, but the Edge list is a lot more in line with my tastes. The heavy Nintendo leaning of our choices was always going to mean that though; I haven't played on a Nintendo machine since the Gamecube.

Bloodborne missed out in 2015 for the same timing reasons. So Divinity: Original Sin 2 will just have to suck it up.

Here's mild fun. I've been playing around with data visualisation stuff, as you do, and sorted Benny's Top 100 games into platform and generation.

 

For platform, the game has to be exclusive for two years or more or currently exclusive if two years haven't passed. If it also appeared on arcade it still counts as exclusive but PC is a deal breaker. The higher the game is ranked the wider its box, if you hover over any box it'll tell you the name of game and details. I looked up many of the games release dates and so forth but for others I relied on me thinking I knew the answer, in other words there'll be mistakes - and lots of them I'm sure.

 

Despite the limitation of the data and the data entry guy there's some interesting trends. Kinda. There's a million and one other ways to show this data which I'll have a look into as i figure out the buggy-as-hell software.

I'm just being facetious, I've not played it yet! I'm trying to hold off on the Switch indies for the moment, I've bought far too many and played far too few...

I'm actually questioning my sanity at this point, I'm going to have to download vostok again and make sure I didn't miss anything!

 

Mainly because there is a bit of a Nintendo fan base here. Everything apparently has always been better when ported to WiiU/Switch. 

 

Also Nintendo consoles are generally lacking in third party content, so games that are more ignored on other formats get more attention when ported onto Nintendo consoles.
