She's absolutely in an outfit completely different to everyone else. For me, it came across as very deliberate. Sure, it's definitely not as much cleavage as I remember, but it is what I remember about the thing. 

 

Please don't think for a minute I'm going all Mary Whitehouse on this - if they all wanted to frolic around in the nude whilst blissfully killing each other in as gory a way as possible I'd have probably been much happier. But, they clearly clearly wanted to add just a little more skin on show.

 

Ah, I think it's a pretty poor show, and doesn't do anything memorable - possibly/probably because the Tolkein estate are so fucking awful and won't allow anybody to do anything memorable. I'd have thought this bizarre making up of stuff is more of an injustice to the original work than a dedicated effort to properly do some of the written history of Middle Earth, but I'm certainly not in any position to give advice!

I’m reading the Hobbit for my son at the moment and I was quite surprised that the narration doesn’t stay ‘in universe’, early on there were references to things going off like a pop gun”, and that journeys were long as they didn’t have cars etc.

It's hardly GOT levels of skin is it and I'm sure if Nazanin Boniadi felt uncomfortable she'd have had the costume changed. Actors have way more say and power in these things now.

Again, it's not about being in anyway prudish about skin in show. It's literally about someone wearing a costume so utterly out of context with the rest of their people.

She does dress differently to others, but it's on purpose surely, in order to stand out from the crowd of biege and grey. You'll probably find instanstnces of the characters male and female throughout that are the same. But it's hardly sexy or provocative, she just has her shoulders out 🤷‍♂️

I thought it was just a way of easily picking her character out in a crowd... all main characters tend to have brighter colours, more combination of colour or whatever for the same reason...

Yeah that's hardly something exclusive to this one show.

 

Fucking hell, Rings of Power isn't perfect, I felt it had some pacing problems and generally didn't really tell much of a story, I'd also have liked to have seen more of the dwarves, but complaining that a main characters outfit stands out more than the extras? That's clutching at straws.

Did anyone NOT think that at the time? It was still visually spectacular, I loved the whole Moria bit, and tense but it was the daftest thing in the movie.

People complained that there were hardly any female characters in Peter Jackson’s version of the world. Now we have more female characters and people are complaining that one of them is wearing a dress. I guess that’s progress of a sort.

Finished this the other day. Glad I watched it but agree on pacing problems. 
 

Fell a bit flat in the middle. Needed more of that human loving elf dude kicking arse and more of Galadriel hunting for clues across icy mountain scapes.
