Anyone got any experience of any of these Brook converters at all?  Looking like my best option is a 360->PS4 adaptor as I have several 360 sticks including some on the compatibility list.  Reviews look good on Amazon.

I had the PS4->Switch one and it worked pretty flawlessly, could feel a teeny bit of lag but that's probably inevitable and I'm not sure I'd have noticed if I wasn't aware I was using a converter. I can't remember ever really hearing a bad word about them in terms of performance, just that they can be a bit niggly to set up the first time.

Has anyone come up with a solution for both charging and using a stick in tabletop mode? I know Hori has that hubstand coming out in the future, but as I now have fighters to play, would like an alternative, even if it's a mess of wires (which I can just package away in one of those nifty cardboard arcade stands)

Brook converters are great, would thoroughly recommend them. I have the 360 to PS4 one (it's actually my third one as they tend to vanish when I go to big tournaments) and it works perfectly. They get right on top of it every time a PS4 system update stops them working too. The update is usually available the same day and updating them could not be more straightforward.

Not sure if this would work?

I've never got their USB-A/B equivalents to work.  USB has a 'data' connection that operates separately from its charging function. So with older USB, on a single lead you can either just charge, or data and charge. With a splitter though (even the ones that advertise you can separate charging from data) it doesn't, in my experience, work. I'm thinking this might be the case with some devices with USB-C, like HDDs.

As the joystick will have such a low (5v) power draw though, the above splitter/hub might be ok. Maybe trial it and send it back to Amazon if not?

I bought one on this very forum. My Qanba works, though I’ve not played SF with it yet. I have to use a short USB extension on the Pro as it won’t fit fully into the USB on the front. Seemed to work fine on the rear but that didn’t give me much room.

Not sure if the connection drops out every 15mind unless you ‘do’ something with another active pad or if that’s something else I’m confusing it with. Will report back when I have played the game.

Many thanks to whoever pointed  me at how to change the difficulty setting.

SSF2T is so much enjoyable lowering the difficulty one notch.

Now I don't arrive exhausted to the random online challenges.

Such a great collection. I bought a copy for my gfs daughter for XBOX ONE.

Unless you have a Mac in which case they’re useless.

I need to follow more rllmuk folks on twitter so I can see more stuff like this. Shutouts to @TheShend for retweeting it.

I'm playing nothing but SF2 right now so I might make the trip because it'd be nice to go to a tournament for once that isn't for smash bros.

Online on this is still a bit laggy but no where near as bad as two nights ago. Still needs a lot of work to be up to standard though. Still getting matches that are like flick books sadly. Also why on earth are rage quitters not punished. Has nothing been learned??

Also found a source of frustration playing arcade while you are waiting for an online match. I beat Ken but didn't quite get passed the victory screen before I was challenged. Once that fight was over I had to fight Ken again. This time I beat him and got to the next stage which was the bonus round where you trash the car. I done that but didn't get to the next opponent before I was challenged again. We finished that fight and then found when back in arcade had to fight Ken AGAIN followed by the car again.

Got my PS4 copy today. Enjoyed a nostalgic run through SF2 Hyper and playing SF3 for the first time. Even the d-pad isn't too bad.

But I can't play online at all. Not got the fastest connection and it's just not having it. In about 10 games maybe 2 were just about playable.

I've not checked the thread, but the PS4 version has a slight windowed effect, black borders on all sides, giving me nasty flashbacks to PAL N64 ports. This is normal, right...?

Otherwise loving the collection. I quite like the central UI that links to all the games for different modes, a great idea there.

I'm walking away from the Switch version of Third Strike after 100 games and 83 wins in Ranked. It's no false modesty to say I suspect the better players must just be on PS4. Time to try Alpha 3 out next! I like the idea of putting 100 matches into each version and seeing where I end up.

I'm getting a switch copy soon so hopefully I can get some matches in with folks.

Can't say how I'll fare with the standard joy cons but I'll have a bash.

It's so the pixels aren't stretched unevenly but you can set it to full screen if you like. It still looks super sharp on my plasma in stretched 4:3 to be honest, it's not like the horror show of stretching out an OG DS game on a 3DS.

Edit: Hang on, you'd be seeing the picture bezels if you hadn't looked at the display options, wouldn't you? I'm confused now.

Make sure your ps4 system settings are correct. You can set the exact corners of your TV in the video settings somewhere. Lots of people never touch that setting.

There was the same thing with God of War recently!

Hmm, what do you recommend? It's very strange as all my other games play full screen no probs - just SF Collection has an inch-wide black border around the whole screen, irrespective of bezels, etc. Turning on overscan helped a bit, but the border's still there.

Still plays smoothly as, which is all that matters really.

Ain’t got this yet, but I’m fucking hooked on this Balearic tune from the museum menu:

Is that a vague remix of Ryu’s fucking gangsta “fight to the fucking death” Street Fighter II theme, or something else? Either way, freaked it a dillion.

I’ve heard cunts in reviews complaining about tepid SF remixes in the menus that fail to get you pumped up. Fuck that, I feel like I’m coming up on 3 swedgers listening to this :omg:

It's system settings> sound and screen > display area settings. Just enlarge until it moves the corners to the corners. Then launch the game (won't work if you launch the game first).

Most games don't respect the setting I think, or use it just for the UI elements.

I am just educated-guessing it's this, that's what it was for God of War.

Think its Sakura’s theme tune.

I was back on SF1 today, tweeting about the arcade mode and how daft it all is. If you're not fighting to get a motion out or being bounced around the stage by janky movement, you're losing 3/4 health because you can't recover from Sagat's kick to survive his projectile follow-up. On the other hand, things like Ryu's DP can hit more than once for equally silly damage. :P

Nice one. I happen to think that Sakura's Alpha 2 theme is somewhat of a Ryu remix in itself. There's definite little motifs and callbacks going on in the melodies and instrumentation I think.
