When do I get

the warping thingy

because I'm feeling underpowered with my +2 Astora SS and I just managed to get to the fire at the bottom of blighttown and I want out of here! I'm thinking I need to upgrade some other weapons.

What type of build are you going for?   There are a few nice weapons in your current locale.

 

PS. I too love Blighttown, apart from the Mozzies although I did have a crossbow the last time I was there and that was pretty handy.

Yeah this is an incredible area, I've been falling (literally) into different paths and stuff and found a few things. Just got a firekeeper soul yay! I thought I would try a faith build and use the Astora sword which is pretty good but I have a feeling I'm going to be underpowered very soon. I didn't realise how slow the casting on sunlight spear is, it's almost useless! I think I have 20 faith 10 dex and 15 strength. I need to work out what to, now I'm down here I might as well try and kill this boss but these towers are a maze. I think I need a break to be honest.

 

Edit: Oh I picked up the Iato and the sweet red threads I used last time I played this and also maybe a sorcery catalyst, what weapons are you talking about?

I was thinking the Iaito and Falchion, but there is a club if you are going that way.

Also the pyro spell can be very useful.

 

I think dex may affect casting speed but it would require heavy investment.

@Minion if your gonna go faith, a couple things. ill hide em in case you, are others dont wanna see!

that sword is good at the start, BUT, it scales poorly, very poorly, even with 30 in each stat, its poor.

 

The offensive spells, lightning, are locked behind the sunbros covenent, if you're still early, you may want to put 5 more into faith to get 25, as this will unlock the covenent, then, get ten sunbro medals, either summon sunbros and beat a boss, that will give one, or help others as a sunbro, beat a boss get one.

 

There is a boss you will want to kill early (its easy) to get summit that will help ALOT with faith.

Oh I did that just before I went to Blighttown, what can I use that DE for then, will it make say a Longsword scale with faith? I assumed I needed Lightning infusion like in DS3? I am also already a member of the Sunbros but only have 7 medals, I think I'll go back and lay my sign by the Butterfly.

One thing I should not have forgotten with these games is to waste hammering  away at a boss when tired and not concentrating.

 

Quelaag is not too hard but I’ve made too many stupid mistakes trying to rush the job, costing me half a dozen lives and, bar one attempt, I have died when down to her last 10% of health as I get careless thinking it’s all over..

 

I need to go out now which is for the best I think...

yeah...if youre new to this, but have played 3, you kinda need to "unlearn what you have learned" , as ds3 takes its scalling and whatnot from ds 2! oddley.

Divine scales with faith, go see andre with your shiny ember!

ligghtning, does not scale, and you cant get for quite a while.

fire, dosent scalke

chaos...sort scales with humnanity...dont ask

occult, also scales with faith, is a bit different.

magic and enchanted, with int, slightly different amounts of scaling.

raw, no scaling.

standard, often the best way, as pure physical can do more on average to most enemies.

Dark Souls. I have a purging stone in my inventory just in case but luckily those basilisks all died to my sword.

 

So it seems there's hardly any decent weapons that scale in faith and those that do are end game, I am disappoint. Considering starting a new Dex build instead, katana samurai, maybe later.

str/faith is a common, and very powerful combination in the absence of any decent faith scaling.

I keep seeing a Gravelord Servant Summon sign on my travels, and occasionally a message pops up about disaster averted or something to do with the Gravelord.

 

What’s going on? Does this happen to everyone? I’m in some white covenant from the cleric bloke in Firelink, and I have been basilisk cursed and then cured, if either has any bearing.

I'd forgotten you can't pause these games. It makes it really difficult when you get called to help with something every 5 minutes or so.

I've been getting these messages from day 1.  Nothing to do with being cursed, for sure.

 

Capra and Gaping dragon down tonight - everything seems easy after Capra.  Also a wonderful cheesy one shot of the silver knight on the small tower in the Parrish - I noticed he often comes out of the tower without actually climbing down the stairs, so I waited on the little ledge down below and sure enough he fell right down in front of me for the jump slash.

Another player who is a member of the Gravelord covenant has invaded your world and infected it. 

You need to find the Gravelord summon sign they have left in your world, use it to invade their world and kill them to lift the curse.

Don't worry if that sounds like a lot of effort - when they infect your world they also infected a bunch of other worlds, and only one host needs to find and kill the Gravelord to lift the curses on everybody's worlds.

The only thing I am not sure about is... I am pretty certain that you had to be in NG+ to get infected, in the non-remastered version. So something seems to have changed here, and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet .

What's the effect of the Gravelord curse though?  Can't say I've noticed anything in particular off.

I seem to be gravelorded constantly, though I'm yet to notice any I'll effects.

You get extra-tough red mobs appearing from time to time.

Actually I think I've worked it out - maybe the mobs don't appear until NG+. Until then, you can be infected but it doesn't have negative effects . I guess that's the deal, anyway.

Yeah it is sort of like Pure Black world tendency in Demon's Souls, I too thought it was a NG+ thing so I'm not sure what is going on in the remaster.
