Is Picross Lord of the Nazarick any good? Looks a bit more interesting than the other Jupiter Picross games.

It depends on your tolerance for terrible anime and it's tropes. I found it a slog toward the end. I still finished it and spent 40 hours on it.

Cheers, deKay; I've just finished wading through that listing and there's a bunch you recommend that I missed.

Anyone know if the Pandemic board game conversion is any good?

Either of the Yooka games good for kids or too tough? They also both look quite different, one 2D and one 3D.

The first game is great, if you liked Banjo-Kazooie. I found the second one disappointing, mainly because it wasn’t more of the same.

They’re both pretty tricky for kids, I’d say.

Is there 1 or 2 in that list you'd recommend for someone unfamiliar with the genre in its modern form?

Psyvariar Delta is the best game of that bunch by some distance. Check if the DLC is also discounted as the DLC ship plays completely differently and adds an additional soundtrack.

Blasphemous for a fiver. Praise be!

I was just coming here to ask if this was worth it?

I've got Metroid Dread coming for Xmas but have been fancying some metroidvania style gaming lately.

Am I remembering right that Blasphemous is a gothic styled metroidvania style game.

It’s absolutely worth it, yes! The combat is hard-hitting and it borrows other elements from Dark Souls, it should be noted.

There's a demo if you're unsure

Urgh, cheers for that heads up. Not a DS fan.

I did enjoy Blasphemous but it also has an incredibly obtuse clue system. It is definitely more Dark Souls in tone than your typical Metroid.

I’ve never played a Saints Row game, would IV on the Switch be a good place to start? £2.50 does seem rude not to, but the Metacritic reviews suggest it’s a mixed bag and if it’s just going to sit there unplayed…

All you need to know is the Saints gang got so popular the boss got elected president of the USA. The story picks up from there and... goes some places.

If you liked the original crackdown gameplay you may just like this a lot.

The signposting is arcane, especially towards the end. I remember one part was deciphering a riddle found on an obscure item or piece of scenery. Also, if you leave it for a few days then go back cold, it's a massive struggle to get get going again.

Having said that, I finished it and loved the combat and atmosphere.
