Hopefully this means more Pocket Games are on the way and we'll get another physical compilation. I'm pretty sure a large number of Pocket Games are fully owned by SNK so bar Sonic, Pac-Man and a few others you could potentially get the full library on Switch. And potential physical releases too 👌

Yeah it’s the golf one that is supposed to be really good as well right?

 

People seem pretty excited about Card Fighters Clash though, might have to pick it up.

Big Tournament Golf. To be fair the Pocket Collection is on Amazon at the mo for £23 which is tremendously good value.

Card Fighters is absolutely brilliant. Will keep you going for ages.

Aw man, imagine Faselei. I love the Neo Geo Pocket, but I don't love the prices of its games.

I was thinking of the NGPC one but you’re right - the bug is in the DS version and I’d misremembered.

Oh man, this is great news. I'd been hoping for more NGPC games and this is the one. The amount of hours I put into this game is scary (owned both versions, played both to completion). I also remember jumping through multiple hoops to bypass the game breaking bug in the DS sequel (patching the game to fix it).

 

And if there's a physical Switch Volume 2 around the corner then Faselei and Biomotor Unitron must be nailed on surely? Not much chance of Pac-Man sadly (remember the plastic ring to lock the joystick to 4 directions?).

 

I don't have many regrets in terms of selling off old systems/games but I really do miss my Neo Geo Pocket collection. Had pretty much a full set of PAL games and a number of consoles that I sold off for bobbins years back.

Holy shit I just started playing that on emulator for the first time earlier this week. Instantly bought!

 

 My accidental purchase of the NGPC collection turned out to be one of my best last year. Great to discover an entire console I missed out on.

They all use AD&D second edition rules (nerd, me?) and if you haven't been exposed to that there can be a pretty steep learning curve.

 

However, I would say it's worth putting the effort in - the writing and world building is worth it (as long as you like traditional Tolkien-esque fantasy stuff) and the NPCs are as good as you will find anywhere, anytime.

Gave the Bonfire Peaks demo a go and it should be the kind of thing I love but the controls are HORRIBLE. I've cranked the movement speed down to its absolute lowest setting and I'm still constantly overshooting where I wanna go. Might try the PC version and see if that's any better. (I also hate the music but that's presumably not gonna be any different between versions.)
