Did you make a typo? I can't find this game.

Me too. It's such a tease, that post. Just 24 hours of not knowing what it is but knowing it's now ONLY TWO QUID has made it my most anticipated game of the year. The hype train is so strong. I have absolutely no idea what kind of game it is.

Yeah, I like them — but then I enjoy the original Langrisser games, and can overlook their flaws (primarily: overlong battles thanks to an excess of units on the field).

They're an interesting evolutionary niche of the SRPG - Dragon Force on Saturn is the only other major example I can think of that really runs with the large-scale, commander + supporting formations approach, and that did things very differently, meaning Langrisser remains pleasingly unique. Can't say I was hugely enamoured with the updated visuals, but then it was never really a looker. What it definitely benefits from is portability: always a major boon for this genre!

I'd recommend trying the games if you like SRPGs, if only to see a route less travelled for the genre.

(incidentally, if you ever played Warsong on the Mega Drive, you've played the original localised Langrisser 1; that might give a handful of people an idea of what to expect, at least!)

After searching for something the kids could really get into, I came across Boomerang Fu.
It’s a multi player, single screen game, not sure what genre you’d put it in exactly but they are all over it. Play it every morning now.
The free demo is all you need tbh but I ended getting the full game for the various extras.
Sensational music too.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Downloaded the demo and the kids LOVE it! Good fun.

Donut County is 70% off. https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/Donut-County-1487838.html?nsuid=70010000014126#

Another poster put it on my radar in the “late to the party” thread so the discount is well timed.

Cheers for this, I picked it up and played through the whole thing today, lovely little game!

This is excellent stuff.  The demo really is over-generous, but I'll be going all in a some point.

Is this actually good? Is it pure brick breaking?

Looks decent but would prefer mouse controls....spoilt by a late discovery of bolo on the ST and other brick breakers just don't feel as responsive now.

We've played A LOT of Boomerang Fu since downloading the demo. The kids love it!

I've just watched a tips and tricks video on YouTube. I need to stay one step ahead 😄

They're also really enjoying Fall Guys after seeing Loserfruit playing it on Instagram.
