Picked up Tetris The Grand Master last night and it really is brilliant. It’s so no frills and punishing that it holds my attention more than other Tetris variants even though each game is only lasting 3-5 minutes currently.

 

Hopefully TGM 2 and 3 follow.

My daughter had a review code for the Spirit game because she liked the TV show. The horses are basically just vehicles in the game. There isn’t much interaction with them. Also it feels like a cheap cash-in. She didn’t think much of it even though she liked the characters.

I suspect it would do your nut in. The games mechanics though are incredible, it's got a lot of complex systems. But the anime tropes are absolutely slapped on liberally. And I can see how it would drive people off.

No. There's plenty of sub£1 garbage on the system, none of them are worth it.

 

What's the verdict on Loop Hero?

I was not a fan of Loop Hero - fun at first but it is s bit slow and repetitive and maybe slightly too abstract. An interesting idea though.

Correct. It’s like a top down, poor man’s Max Payne with Janky controls. The idea of it is good and it looks ok but I didn’t gel with it after 20 minutes so gave up. Ymmv

I picked up Elli for £1.79 and it’s a nice relaxing puzzle/platform game. Nothing too flashy but I like the art style and the gameplay is solid.

Anyone played Dex? 0.89p seems like a steal and it’s had very good write ups online.

Yeah, about a year back. It's good enough, nothing truly remarkable but a nice, more compact cyberpunk experience. Kinda formulaic in a way, it's pretty much what you would expect from a "2D Cyberpunk Videogame" but that's no bad thing, just don't go expecting anything truly novel. At 89p? Oh absolutely, I paid a fiver for it and felt I still got a bargain from it.

I hadn’t heard of this before but came across it in a SwitchWatch vid, if anyone loves a Sega shooter in the vein of LA Machineguns/Gunblade then check out Assault Chainguns KM. It’s currently about £4.50.
