Just a quick note; has anyone got the links to the old forum?

I'm trying to find the topics that we started (including my Obie Trice one) before the forum changed, but I go to the old address and all I get is a splash page! No link to the old forum or anything! Please tell me they haven't been deleted.

I think Rllmuk said they would eventually get put back on.

1. OUTKAST-A-T-LIENS

This is so smooth, packed full of classics such as Elevators and 2 Dope Boys

its how south coast hip hop should be done. Nelly take note.

I wasn't a big fan of ATLiens to be honest. I certainly think that 2 Dope Boys and Elevators are pretty good, but Babylon stands out for me. It's that kind of slow, low and lazy but soulful track that makes Aquemini great. Unfortunately, after the hep-cat funk of Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, it just seemed a little dull. In other news, Stankonia is wicked. As is the new one that's got a really long title, roughly the same length as this sentence because it's really two solo albums combined.

Additional

Talib Kweli : Quality = Wicked

Freddie Foxxx : KoneXion = Wicked

Jungle Brothers : Done By The Forces Of Nature = Wicked

De La Soul : Stakes Is High* = Doubly Wicked

*You know it's the best Clive, really you do.

I would also recommend Jazzy Jeff's The Magnificient and Spooks Is On Some Other Script, but I don't want to look like a ponce or nothing. Fuck it, they're great. And so are Mobb Deep.

Look, stakes is ok, but really, after 'three feet high' nothing is really going to seem as groundbreaking is it?

I'll forgive your slightly offish taste in that department for highlighting my favourite Jungle Brother's album.

'Done by the Forces of Nature' is not often mentioned when the usual classics are brought up, but it fucking should be. An absolute masterpiece.

Glad to see someone else thinks so.

I would also recommend Jazzy Jeff's The Magnificient

I might sniff that one out. Despite the association, Jeff knows how to lay down dem beats 'n' scratches.

My God I've had it, I really have. I've been sitting on my hands, handcuffing them together, but its useless I'm losing it again... Ben and others I apologise for bringing hate into this post again, I fully respect others opinions and recommendations but this guy is a fucking prick. He's a patronizing, stuck-up cunt who probably spends all day at home laying on his bed trying to suck his own maggot-sized penis and posting on this forum in between attempts. I dont give a fuck if you put a  after your shitty little "I'm so good" comments it still makes you sound like an arrogant shite. If your going to come into a british forum and make comments about british hip-hop that simply aren't true then I hate you, and will not stop hating you until you stop trying to be so fucking "DIFFERENT", twat.

Apologies for being discerning.

I thought the recent Freddie Foxxx album was dire and I'm a big fan of his.

I love Stakes Is High, but is sure as hell isn't as good as Three Feet High and Rising.

You don't like like Swazzee? Lazy? Gangsta's Again? I dunno, I kind of like it. It saddens me that he's softened with age, but we've all got to grow up.

Stakes is untouchable. Three is charming in a sort of small terrier way, but it's entirely out of touch now. Stakes sounds fresh, soulful, funny and stark. All the best bits of Three really, but with better beats. At least, in my opinion anyway.

Better beats? I don't have a pic to express my shock!

I don't think Bumpy Knucks has softened, I just think he made a bad album.

Basically, my theory is this. If you prefer Stakes, then you like a certain level of sinister in your hip hop selection. If you prefer Three, then you're a cumudgeonly old twat trapped in the Native Tongue era.

Ha.

That could not be less true. I simply think it's Prince Paul's finest moment and has aged very well.

Right now I'm listening to 'Vibrate' by Mr. Scruff. The vocals are by Braintax, who I haven't heard of before, but I like his style.

Download this track right now if you know whats good for you.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and my signature currently represents the coolest hip-hop track OF ALL TIME!

93 til infinity. A very worthy contender for best hip-hop tune of all time. Oh yeah, Stakes is High did have some boring tunes! 3 feet high and rising is legendary. Just thought I'd bring up a blatently obvious question but, what is everyones favourite album of all time? After alot of arguments amongst my braincells (all two of them) it has to be Only Built for Cuban Links. Ghost and Rae at their very best, and whats better than that?!

1) Such as?

2) Legendary in the sense that everyone has heard it, not that it's better.

I don't think Stakes is High is quite as "Underground" as you think. I have a feeling people who heard 3 feet high and rising would have heard Stakes is High and wouldn't have been quite as impressed. I'm not saying its a bad album, I'm just saying it didnt have the impact that 3 feet did.
