Think generic comic book film intro and you get the idea. No idea how they are going to use it.

I'm really looking forward to Melbourne but with some trepidation. How much shit have they fucked with presentation wise and is it going to suck? I'll be honest I'm a bit worried.

Wait, what? Ferrari still moaning and threatening to break away.

Wolff can fuck off. Fair distribution of prize money and budget caps have nothing to do with purity but there won't be much of a series if the big teams just hoover up an everdecreasing pool of cash.

I think the themes just for the bit where the local broadcasts switch from their pundits to the FOM feed

Could be  hopefully billy bullshit... People I will lose their my shit over this.

You might as well put in an ad break.

Can't wait for the action lap which turns out to have absolutely no action in it.  But with the theme music playing whilst all the cars just follow each other round.  Maybe this is the lap we can finally turn on the sprinklers.

Hahahahaha. So they've brought in the big ugly Halo, but they haven't moved the onboard camera. It looks fucking shit.

Also apparently commentators have been asked to not speak for approx 3 mins during a hotlap that will have music playing over the top.

Only 10 people with predictions in place for the opening round. A lot of the usuals still to enter their predictions, remember to do it by the end of today for them to count!

I've just done my predictions but the activity isn't shown in the 'results' tab...... hope they've been saved as I'm pretty sure I've got it spot on :)

Edit: nevermind - showing now.

I see they've 'fixed' the website again.

The menus all have "TRENDING" as the first item, despite it having no functionality, and no real meaning in the context of a menu.

They also seem to have hidden the convert to local time option again, this seems to mysteriously disappear every couple of years, a real PITA if you want to find out the actual times to avoid all the crap (or they've hidden it behind registering for adverts for the streaming service I'd love, but can't buy)

See, that's the thing here. For such a technology-based sport/industry, holy fuck does Formula One lack common sense sometimes. Like, surely someone at Liberty must have looked at a feed of that camera position during preseason and thought 'you know what... that really doesn't do us any favours here'. Ditto with the Halo obscuring helmets, too. It was noticed by journalists and everyone at the track during Barcelona testing, and they've had a fortnight to... I don't know, add some stickers, paint them different colours for each driver or whatever. Yet, nothing has been done.

Watched a bit of FP1 overnight as a friend had a spare device slot on Sky Go for me to use. Could definitely see the changes they were mentioning; loads of facts about Melbourne, some videos of notable incidents in the past and such. Was alright. What I didn't like (and I know some people may find this minor) is the insistence on playing a musical flourish when they transition in and out of a replay. Really started to piss me off after about the 5th or 6th time.

Oh, and the plan to have no commentary and just music on the parade lap is still something I consider an utterly bobbins idea.

It’s still showing up on the iPhone (thankfully). Scroll down to the list of races and it’s there. It is something pretty vital, because when the races are outside the usual European time I know to need things like “Can I watch qualifying before I have to leave for X or do I need to record it?”.
