If it’s not jumping, it’s dropshotting. COD gonna COD. That’s why I’m playing on Xbox with my Elite Controller.

Not been able to get my Elite setup properly for this yet. Getting better results with my standard One Controller.

Still more than Fortnite with its 18Hz tickrate!

Fortnite is minimum 30, it hasn’t been 18 for months and months due to the backlash it got.....

Although the jump shot idiots are annoying, ive not had the hair pulling out moments of bullets going round the corners yet of previous versions.

if this drop in Hz is a valid thing they'll have to sort it as people wont have it.

Not ruining my time with it at the moment anyway.

I've been playing Blackout most of the day on X1X, and when you get a good game it is great but it is so inconsistent. I've had some complete hard freezes, some extremely laggy games. Since today I've also had a bug where you can't use healing items. I've seen this happen to other people when I'm spectating too. It seems be when you go to very low health ~ 10-20. Unless that's intentional?

There's also some quirks on the matchmaking. I'm trying to play quads and frequently there's only two, or worse just me, in the team.

Holy shit the lag was real last night (on PS4).

I had some games where some opponents were unkillable, since they always saw me about 0,5 seconds before I saw them. The killcam from their viewpoint didn't show what I experienced.

There were so many times where I was shot behind corners or just died more or less instantly even though I got the jump  on someone and clearly fired first, on my screen that it.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-10-21-report-call-of-duty-black-ops-4-server-rates-are-a-third-of-what-they-were-in-the-beta

Quote

UPDATE 22nd Oct 2018: Treyarch has responded to the recent discussion about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 server send rate.

As detailed below, players found the multiplayer server send rate had dropped from the 60hz available in the beta to 20hz in the current version of the game.

In a post on r/Blackops 4, Treyarch admitted it had prioritised game stability over other factors such as network performance at launch.

"We're constantly working to optimise the game, and particularly network performance, to ensure the highest quality online experience for our players," Treyarch said.

"For a game launch with as massive a population as ours hitting so many global servers at once, we configure our infrastructure to ensure game stability as the highest priority over all other factors."

Treyarch added it will work to "fine-tune" network performance now Black Ops 4 has been out a week.

"Now that we're past the initial launch of the game, we are focusing on fine-tuning network performance around the globe, using the real-world data that we have collected," Treyarch said.

"Over the course of the next two weeks, we will roll out several updates to our network setup that will continue to improve upon the experience of our players since launch. As we have always said, launch is just the beginning, and we're committed to making Black Ops 4 the best-supported game we've ever delivered. This is a journey that will involve constant adjustments, improvements, and additions. We appreciate your continued support and patience - thank you!"

Basically, they got caught out and all this is lawyer talk to smooth things over.

In other news, some of these weapons camos are pretty damn innovative works of art.  Check out the Tactical Unicorn for example:

I dunno, I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's entirely possible with a publisher like Activision that they'd do the shitheel thing and just save money but they'd have to be ding dongs of the highest caliber to think that no-one would notice. EVERYTHING gets noticed these days. Spitball guess but Blackout was way more popular than they anticipated and had to compensate somehow. Course, if it was a publisher decision I feel bad for Treyarch as they're in the firing line. It is what it is, and now it's been brought to light they'll be working their balls off to get it right.

That skin is right up my street. I love stupid shit like that.
How do you unlock appearances for the specialists? I've seen other skins than the Day of the Dead one but I've no idea how you obtain them.

I suspect they made that decision because they were having trouble getting a higher tick-rate in Blackout and change the other multiplayer mode to match so the jump between them wouldn't feel as drastic. I can see them reinstating the 60hz on the standard multiplayer ASAP, but I might be wrong.

At any rate, I can't see it as a financial decision myself.

Anyway, Blackout is like crack cocaine and I am fully addicted.

I've added a few people who said to friend them on PS4 but am looking for more teammate. I'll be on around 9pm tonight!

Gave Blackout a go tonight... not a single kill, but hey, learning the layout at the moment.

I did notice every now and again a sort of heavenly / angelic bit of music, anyone have a clue what that is about?

You get some errie music when you see the zombies attack.

Watch for the beams of light that shoot up the sky and go there and assuming you're first you can get a crate with rare stuff.

Its usually at the mental home, one of the restaurants or 3 or 4 other places.

They usually place about 1 minute into the game. If you're late you'll likely get wiped out as they attract players, obv.

They are always at the Asylum, if you kill all the roaming zombies it makes a special crate appear,  also the zombies drop shit when you drop them, like the Zweihander gun which is a super powerful double barreled smg.

Anyone noticed the recording skipping? I tried to capture a couple of ‘sweet ass’ plays but on watching back, certain bits are quick cut out :(

I assume it’s due to the resource or something to run the game? The party menu etc on the OS really chugs for

me too when running Blops 4 (PS Pro)

I've played a few Zombies games with randoms and while we seem to survive a number of waves (18 or so, for example), the actual course of the game seems to be a somewhat random affair of people running around, sometimes off unlocking new areas and doing a champion, or back to the first circular arena (in IX) to wipe out hordes. Everyone just seems to be doing their own thing.

Is this usual, or is playing with randoms always this.. er.. random?

I don't have much experience but that is my experience of playing zombies with one friend and 2 randoms.

There is a menu with the various options you have unlocked I think its on the bottom left   player->personalisation then select each character. You can choose a skin and face paint option usually.
