Was really looking forward to this but it looks like an N64 game and plays like a PS1 game. I'd rather play PUBG and I don't want to ever play PUBG again to be honest.

I find this post incredibly strange.

Good grief, how can you be so wrong.

Moz gonna Moz.

At least it’s not in every single new game thread in Discussion like it used to be a few years ago. Endless derailing noise.

Blackout isn't dead I never struggle to jump into a game straight away, having some fresh blood this morning was fun I managed to rack up another win. Maybe they'll make it f2p when the next cod comes out but then that might damage sales of the new cod which I assume will have a BR mode.

I just watched a killcam and then spectated the player. Watching his screen there was a near constant puff of smoke that appeared onscreen as they walked around. Any ideas what that was? Evidence of some sort of cheat? (Not that I'd say there was anything unfair about my loss - I was taken down fairly as far as I can tell).

There seems to be some glitch when you spray one of your tags, it's like a permanent spray can in the player's hand. I've seen it happen in multiplayer a few times as well.

What I'm most excited about besides the significant map and gameplay updates to Blackout and the new weapons and maps, is the Barebones mode in multiplayer.  I hope it's the equivalent of a No Specialist mode that the community has been crying out for since launch.  To grind my kills so I get the Drones, Sniper Copter and Mantis combo only for some douche with no skill to end up hacking them with Zero and turn them against my team is game breaking.  This will be the only game mode I will end up playing if it does turn out to be the case.

None of the updates however make me feel less ripped off for buying the Season Pass before launch.  I haven't even seen Madagascar or Elevation in rotation once after the featured playlist disappeared.  Activision should really consider just giving away the new maps for free so they don't split the community.  Unfortunately, the greedy cunts will never let that happen.

I'm optimistic about this update, but Treyarch really need to keep supporting this game a lot more than they have been, so that they can pull back the majority of the people who jumped ship to Apex Legends and back onto Fortnite and pubg.

Not sure a few buildings in the desert is enough for me to come back to blackout from Apex, I'll give it a go but it's not exactly much of a change.

The new GTA style mode looks great but:

1. Even if this were free I’d play Apex instead.

2. It won’t anywhere near as fun to play as that trailer.

3. Most of the cool stuff in the trailer will be obtained via expensive mtx.

Good-looking content and great to see Treyarch supporting the game though.

The new vehicles are a great addition.  The sports car shows you the locations of all supply drops on the map, giving you the best loot available.  The police car shows you the location of the sports cars, and if you turn your sirens on then you will get a little sensor dart-type radar around your car so you can spot enemies.

Also, in addition to the Ghost Town city (above and below the ground), there have been other changes to the maps.  More building at Diner, more mansions to explore, a new area above Hydro, etc.  Big rumour also that there will be a new Alcatraz Island area close to Nuketown.

All these changes and updates are very welcome IMO and just what they need to get people playing again.

I wonder what kind of drop off they've seen in Blackout since Apex came out.

Huge drop off I bet.

I was playing a fair bit of Blackout prior to Apex, and since Apex I've played mostly that with a few games of Blackout. I didn't find switching between the two hard and having different games to suit different moods is great.

I'm interested to try the Hardcore Blackout mode. It's not coming today, but it's on the road map. It will be very slow and campy but might be a good change of pace to play occasionally.

I wish I could just install the blackout mode seperately as I'd like to check out the new stuff for a weekend or two.

The fact that Blops4 is effectively three separate games is crazy from a dev point of view. I've played hundreds of games of Blackout, 3 multiplayer games and not even loaded zombies.

RIP APEX

Loved Driftor's reaction when he saw they managed to add even more microtransactions. The fucking gall of these companies man.

I'll be back on this when my Gorilla suit unlocks next week on the box. Ghost town looks good.

Last time I played there were paint cans all over the map, what do they do?

Unlock skins I think.

It's not skins.  It's camos for your guns in Blackout.  No purchasing necessary, it just takes forever to pick up the paint cans and grind all the guns if you want Dark Matter on them all.  I think you need something like 8000 paintcans for all the weapons.

I pick them up whenever I see them, but I'm not that fussed about it, and most of my weapons in Blackout have reactive camos and mastercraft on them anyways.

Has anyone been playing the new ambush mode in blackout? It's knives, launchers and sniper rifles only. I spotted you could play it solo yesterday so I hopped in, and I found it great fun. I've had the most ever kills in a match, and came second place in my second and fourth game, so hopefully I can get a few wins out of it. I've only won normal blackout once, I normally get nowhere or top 10, but here I feel like I'm in with a better shout.

Has anyone played it and what did you think?

EDIT : aaaaand it's gone, the most fun I've ever had in blackout and it's gone again.

I sold this back in December, maybe November. A first for me and this franchise. A complete opposite of a return to form for the multiplayer IMHO. No interest in Blackout. Never looked back since. Etc.

So the last Week I have played this, I kid you not, everytime I come against a player that is virtually impossible to kill they are German.

They clearly have either really bad or very good connection as they always seem to have a connection advantage.

Any chance this will be balanced out with Modern Warfare??? Of course not!!!
