Skills aside, i had a wonderful session this evening with one of our clan members. I assume he's off here or knows one of our usual lot. Anyway, thanks, because i needed a kick up the arse with this game, and tonight was enjoyable.  :)

I think that was me, if said session consisted of tackling a few control points and the federal bunker mission. Was a lot of fun, and glad to hear you enjoyed it, as I worried your dreams would be haunted by the endless chugging of my LMG. :D

The sniper turret rework seems to have done wonders, as it came in very handy last night. I think assault turret is still best for fending off waves of enemy red-shirts, but being able to specifically target and soften up the purples and elites takes off a lot of pressure. Finding it difficult to move away from the turret/shield combo, though. Must try the firefly again to see if they've managed to make it less maddening.

Christ this is good on pc, running through early stuff again, half of which I'd forgotten, and absolutely loving it. UWS and everything on ultra with nice pair of headphones also helps a lot. :)

I'm trying to force myself to use different weapons and skills to my ps4 setup but oh it's hard not to fall back on old favourites at times. Think I'm in the pc clan now, sorry but I'll try and catch you all  up (and not drag you down!) as and when possible.

You are indeed. I accepted you this morning :)

Get those grinding pants on!

What are people's thoughts on the neutral lighting option?

I tried it and the game becomes so much more atmospheric, especially at night (it was already great). It made some of the missions quite difficult as it is harder to track the enemies, but I think it's worth it.

Few games get the day/night cycle and weather effects as right as the Division 2, be nice if you could enjoy 2 minutes of it without getting shot at :D

In The Division 1 the neutral lighting option was amazing, especially at night. And in Survival it turned it into a survival horror game essentially. You could barely see 10 metres in front of you but that suited the incredibly tense nature of that particular gamemode.

It’s still fantastic at night in Division 2 but I think during the daytime you lose some of the hazy humidity that they’ve blanketed DC in this time. As the time-to-kill is quicker and you can get jumped from multiple directions in this one it also definitely increases the difficulty significantly. They went all out with the contrast and really dark areas in Division 2 anyway, so I’m not sure whether I’ll use it this time.

Neutral lighting in the original added so much to the overall atmosphere (which was already top notch) - wandering the streets became like a survival horror - you wouldn't see the mobs until they're right on top of you. At which point you shit yourself and jump for cover.

I've not tried it extensively on Div2, but i assume it won't be as dramatic, simply because swampy DC doesn't hold a candle to winter in NYC.

Well... Tonight I actually realised how the calibration worked and my level has taken quite the jump after a week of 300.

Also just discovered with the chem launcher you double tap the shooder button to detonate... Been shooting at it everytime I fired it, IDIOTHOLE!

Exploding drones get rather annoying don’t they?

Nah, I can spot them a mile away now and take them down with ease. You can see when they're getting them ready to deploy by the little icon above their heads so you can be to shoot them so they explode on the enemy.

How so? Just keep doing stuff, gear will drop at a higher level, whack it on and your score goes up. I went from 250 to 305 in a couple of hours just redoing missions bounties and opening field proficiency chests. Didn't even touch the other activities like DZ.

Make sure you're doing the strongholds once you reach the GS limit for them as that will open up the next WT

Matchmaking in to  the harder or challenge bounties drops a ton of stuff. Don't try and do them on your own though, they do not fuck about.

The signature weapon bug is fun isn't it?  Got my grenade launcher last night and then managed to use the ammo that came with it and then didn't use it again all night after doing all 6 invaded missions. Let's hope they fix that one quick.

Ah ok.

I thought you head to get areas back to grey but I couldn’t work out how to do it as more things kept popping up and I was running around like a madman.

So just unlock and then hit the strongholds?

And you can match make to do bounties?

For the special ammo, if you choose one of the other specialisations then go back to your favoured one you get full ammo for it. At least it did before the update but I've not played since, so that might help.

Yeah, each stronghold ranks you up a WT and raises the minimum gear score for the next one. Do stuff until you hit it, do the SH and rinse repeat. 4 strongholds means you'll be WT5 after you've done them all.

If you select random bounty from the matchmaking menu, you should be in a group in seconds.

Annoyingly if I try and match make for a specific bounty I've activated, nobody seems to join. Don't know if Ive missed a trick there.

I had this last night, did loads of bounties before the patch with no issues.

I also had 3 crashes yesterday on PS4. I've played a lot and didn't have any crashes or disconnects before Fridays patch.

Yes, this. Feel like I'm in MGS or something. Keep freaking me out.

The bounty character models were also hilarious pre-update when you looked at them on the map screen. Lots of very strange, bent out of shape poses.

I've given up for today. Joining groups just standing there, still no signature ammo, t-posing enemies everywhere, a hard PS4 crash and now just got a delta error.

Going on holiday for a week now. Hopefully they can sort whatever broke it with the update by next week.

Strange question but how do you join a clan mate who is matchmaking for a bounty?

i saw Moosilizer (spe) on and tried to join his bounty matchmaking but couldn’t find out how.

That was me, seems like Sunday afternoon is not a good time to play, was all a bit of a mess for me.

When you get the recalbration station at the White House you can roll your highest level gear with gear which has a lower Game Score but higher attributes. If your armour is at 7000 on your main backpack and you recalibrate another backpack with an armour score of 8000 into it, the overall game score could jump alot. I did it with a mask yesterday which went from 481 to 503. The game gives a visual preview of how far it will jump. Comes in very handy with WT5 loot which is either broken right now or they have changed the RNG variables, as I have had loads of High End loot drop far below my level.

Felt abit like Kartoffelkopf with session on this last night. Lack of special ammo is a real pain in the arse atm. I was matchmaking Bounties and just running into people afk or quiting as soon as the boss guys appeared. The game dropping me loads of rubbish loot didn't help.
