A swinging sixties spy show could be fun, but the license actually makes me less interested because we'll have to watch them cram in painful foreshadowing and bat imagery at every opportunity and like most of the projects the characters have no choice but to spin their wheels because ether have to end up where we know.

3 episodes out there. I’ve seen the first two. An incredible amount of faux-Cockney wideboy nonsense and suchlike. Which I’m finding enjoyable, but I’m not sure you guys would. Also very sweary.

Don't expect realism either. It’s even gone as far as (not particularly spoilery, apart from a world building sense)

Spoiler

live televised executions at the Tower, complete with sponsors. Hung, drawn and quartered.

This is on Starz and, like everything else on Starz, is OK and not terrible. It's weird a mixture of silly Michael Caine cockney gangster bullshit and a kitchen sink drama.

It isn't boring but I'm not sure that it's good. I haven't seen loads in the way of foreshadowing, rather it's just a bunch of ex-SAS men doing jobs after they leave the Army.

Caught a few episodes of this on my flight back from New York.

I liked what I saw, despite its best efforts to put me off, by being hilariously grimdark and throwing out swears like it has Tourette's.

I like Jack Bannon, he has an amiable quality about him. Baby-faced for sure, but he can certainly handle himself. The Michael Caine voice is obviously intentional, and Bannon has admitted as such, as Caine's version was a jumping off point for him, (and the producers, with regards to some of the plot points in the show).

Some of the best stuff for me, was when Alfred and his ex-army mates are together.

Paloma Faith can fuck right off, mind.
