Eh? Doesn't everyone use that view? It's been my preferred view since TOCA Touring Car Championship on the PS1. I ignored GRID2 as a racer because it omitted the view.

I'm always chase view. Only time I ever got used to anything else was in the original Ridge Racer on PS1.

I'm an idiot. Just realised there was a little message saying I had brake assist on. It's actually on Med. Switch that off, and I'm playing a different game, took a second off my time straight away but my handling is now tougher which I need to get used to, my new best time was a Pinball lap. What a chimp. It must have been on that since I started playing. I'll have another bash tomorrow but I hope now I can do much better on the next challenge. Maybe second to last.

Fell down the order as I've not played for a few days but can only get to twelfth, I feel there's more in me and I'm using auto gears at the moment after the other day but might give it one more throw around on manual gears.

I think with the hairpin you have to sacrifice the first one, taking it slow to get the drive through the left?

That first section reminds me of the castle on the Azerbaijan formula one circuit.

I'm with you, in-car view ever since DiRT 2 but bonnet otherwise if that's not available. I must admit to having used bonnet a few times in this game in a heavy snow storm race at night but that's due to the impossibility to see properly.

Managed another fifteen mins tonight and climbed up the list a tad (sorry @Minion) from my almost bottom place after (crazily, very briefly) being first. All good fun, I must say.

I did long enough that it started going dark so I had to reset

This is where you find out that time progression was set to 1x1 - there is something soothing and zen about running laps for and hour or more - I've missed that and no other game quite provides that random variety of weather.

As close as I was to de-throning king spatular, I’m still chuffed with second. I can’t imagine I’ll be putting the same amount of time into future rounds, though. I ended up switching to auto. Although manual gearing doesn’t really take too much extra time, the real issue is completely losing the car if you engage the clutch while turning. It’ll just take me too long to train myself to get the gear far enough in advance for it not to be a problem.

Really happy with 3rd in this. Usually I am around the mi-table, but I felt I was competitive and at the very least pushed @spatular and @klargon to have to improve. However, my best run included two mistakes that I could have shaved another 3-4/10ths off. The issue was stringing together my best three sectors in one run.

Can't wait for the next one.

Congratulations to @spatular for taking the victory and well done to everybody who took part, it's been a brilliant effort by all, lets keep this up! Some inasne driving skills on show from all of you, I hope you all enjoyed it, I plan to do another 7 this season. The times were really close all throughout the board. Here are the screengrabs for the final positions, I'll update the OP with the leaderboard and post the next challenge very shortly.

Ok so the second challenge has been sent, let me know if anyone is missing but I think I got you all this time.

This week it's time to take a Japanese Hot Hatch out on the Japanese roads, weather is set to dynamic so if you get a severe storm just keep driving and it should pass :)

Happy driving and good luck everyone! Remember it's the taking part and having fun that counts, I'm specifically trying to not choose extremely tricky track/car combos as it isn't the best fun for shitty drivers like me :)

But we will get to the Ferraris and Lambos don't worry!

@Minion Just put this on and seems I don't have the car. Would cost me £2.99.

If it's just me then no problem, I'll sit this one out. If a number of us haven't got it then perhaps worth choosing a different one?

Ahh shit, what driver level are you?

Actually do you have all the DLC?

I'll need to check mine too when I next get on. As I have the season pass, but none of the newer additional content as of yet.

Pretty sure I have the season pass. There's still some other paid for stuff though.

Bollocks I forgot there was extra dlc not included in the season pass, can I cancel a challenge? It's from the No Limits pack which is £3
