Ooh, haven't caught Mewtwo yet - have just beat the Elite 4. So if you complete the Pokedex you get an item that increases the likelihood of a shiny?

Then is it just a case of saving before Mewtwo and resetting it over and over until he's shiny?

Exactly. You have to encounter him to see as he's not shiny on the map or the precanned animation. You can skip the animation pre fight if you enable it in the settings.

With the charm it's approx 1/1000. Approx 1/4000 without

How do you catch 2 mew twos?

Imported one from Pokémon Go so I could hold off catching in game to do this

This is quite good fun, isn’t it?

What I like - nostalgia for sure, but it’s got enough of the core gameplay that appealed about the original, but hasn’t been overburdened with the additional elements that made the sequels unwieldy and intimidating. It’s got just enough of the additional things from later games - catching mechanic from Pokemon Go, berries, double-Mon battling, dress-up fun - but presented in a nice, straightforward way that has immediacy and charm. I got a matching sailors outfit for me and Eevee; how do you wear an outfit in Let’s Go? You just wear an outfit. There are no beauty contests mini games with lengthy animations and uninteresting interactions, you just get on with wearing it and being stylish.

Had an online battle and was really pleased with the way ‘normal rules’ mode levels the playing field, pun intended. It becomes all about your current team, their moves and type makeup and your strategy. Very good fun.

Run into my first bug in this. Every time I use Pikachu's Thunder attack the game freezes and crashes.

I found a bug very near the beginning of the game, surprised no one else has mentioned it yet...

I thought I understood stats, but clearly don't. I brought over a wonder / best stat attack / stats exceed my expectations (so maybe mid 80s?) Eevee from PoGo. In let's go, she has good stats, with everything good except speed which was almost zilch. Fine so far. I dropped a shed load of quick candy on her and... the appraise thing shows the same, good stats and huge deficiency in speed.

So, where's the disconnect here? How does the hexagon diagram stats impact the stats from candies/leveling?

So I’ve just got the pokemon judge thingy. I’ve got a Charmelon that I’ve raised from a Charmander. Absolute legend he is. One of my favourite ones. Bit of character to him, embering fuckers left right and centre. We’ve been through so much together already!

From Mt Moon where I threw my last few poke balls at him to catch him, to the trainers he’s humbled, to the towns he’s followed me around faithfully. We’re pals. Great pals! He reminds me of the Charmeleon I had when I was 8 years old. Traded from my oldest friend who I now actually live with! Imagine if that Charmeleon could know that me and Tom live together after all these years! And that I now have a brand new Charmeleon that shares our house and goes round adventuring with me like old times!

Anyway, turns out his stats are merely “okay”. Should I just cunt him off or feed him loads of candy’s to improve him? Happy with either. It’s only a load of pixels after all.

You can use bottle caps to max out IVs for level 100 Pokémon. Normal caps max one IV, Gold caps do all 6. I think the guy to do it is in the daycare. There’s one normal and one gold bottle cap available daily (the later may require resetting as it’s random).

I'd still fill them up with candy. Give them an edge in battles, especially speed to get the first move in.

Yeah, had to do that with my 3* stats pokemon too.

Where do these come from?

There's a Fairy-type trainer where the S.S. Anne was who you can battle once per day. Beat her for a cap. Can also find them in Game Corner, allegedly, but all I ever find there is candy.

Yep...

Normal Bottle Cap once a day from fighting the fairy trainer on the pier where the S.S. Anne was.

Gold bottle cap on the floor of the Game Corner. There are 6 loot points (use your partners waging tail to locate them initially but ther never move). They are randomly assigned. Save outside and loot them all. If you don’t get the gold cap then restart the game and try again, you can also get a normal bottle cap. I’ve normally got it within about 10 minutes or resets.

How the hell do I defeat the awoken Snorlax? As soon as I get the fucker close to dead it does a full heal. Again and again. Running out of attacks with Eevee, so ran off, and it fucked off to the mountains. Before I wake the other one, what am I doing wrong?

Not hitting it hard and fast enough. When he's asleep you should be able to beat it in three turns, otherwise it wakes up, and goes back to sleep.

Using something like Buzzy Buzz with Eevee can help as it may paralyse him.

Edit: Maybe the two sleeping Snorlaxes you encounter are different levels (or scale)? It was the second one I couldn’t kill quickly enough. Will go back and try the first one.

Another question: If Eevee learns special moves from one of the later circus tamer dudes, can I go back and relearn the older moves (e.g. Buzzy Buzz) from the first tamer guy, or are they gone for good?

There's a later guy that lets you learn any of them.

If you've transferred Pokemon from Go, don't forget to use your mystical box. It causes Meltans to spawn around you for 30 minutes, and can be used once a week. I've had this thing sat in my inventory for a while now, d'oh.

Going to make the 400 candy to evolve him way easier, have only done this once and have 66 candy from using pinaps already.
