Trials Rising

I played a bit of Trials HD last night (picking up an elusive Platinum in the process!).  The UI is just infinitely better than Rising, and it takes seconds to get into a track, view the leaderboards, etc.

I'll stop moaning about this now, but it's such a massive disappointment.

Just bought the Switch version.

I’m still awful at this game - but really enjoy it for some reason despite this!

Added a few of you - Ubisoft name: Bushtopher

(and can my name be added to the first

post please?)

Feel free to add me as an actual Switch friend for in game leaderboard stuff.

Anyone having issues with the gear?  When I go to change an outfit, it looks like some of the items are infinitely loading with that spinning wheel and non-selectable.

Also, the next time I start a game, the gear seems to be missing...

No biggie, but annoying and a further lack of polish to what is an amazing game under the hood.

Extra annoying is that some of the soundtrack is actually really good, like Jurassic 5. But then they randomly cut off the track and start playing some atrocious drivel.

Do you still need spotify premium to use it on PS4?

The easy and medium track design is a little disappointing. The only real challenge so far has been platforms collapsing out of the blue, or random wrecking ball style set pieces. Level progress seems ok so far though. Haven't had to unnecessarily re-do any tracks with stupid flip challenges yet. Would have preferred to not have done so many lower levels though, especially because their design is completely at odds with the harder ones. It is almost like the easy levels are a completely different game to the harder levels.

They always are. Easy through Medium is primarily about flow, Hard through Ninja is about technicality and advanced movement. I've never known a single previous Trials track on Medium or below to have anything difficult in the line once you've gone through it a couple of times.

They haven't always been. It was only transitioned to Michael Bay mode at some point during Evo or Fusion. The easy and medium levels on HD starting preparing you for the techniques you would need later on. I'd argue that the current levels actively discourage the player from having to learn the techniques for later in the game.

Maybe they should have split out the modes, one for speed trials, with big set pieces and full throttle action and the other for slower, more considered trials action.

All the early levels in this teach a new player is to hammer on the gas fully the whole time and lean occasionally to make sure that you land with 2 wheels on the ground at the same time.
