Absolute demolition. Moriyasu has been incredible with his tactics this tournament. Hit with two major injuries, one before and one during and has adjusted perfectly.

It's been a cracking Fa Cup so far this season.

 

The 5th round this year won't have replays and next year will be played mid week to help the Prem team with Europe and their winter break. Poor lambs.

The penalty for 2-2 was a blatant dive, from every angle I've seen, too.

That third Barnet goal was an absolute peach of a free kick. I wasn't going to bother watching it but I am glad I did. Brentford had so many chances to win but Barnet looked quite dangerous on the break. The Brentford fans standing up behind the goal were a bunch of bellends so I am glad they didn't win.

The VAR being at only chosen games is a bit shit. Chelsea rightly didn't have a penalty against them yesterday after VAR but Brentford got a dodgy one tonight. It needs to be either in all games or in none.

Isn't there an issue with VAR and the amount of cameras that can be situated in the stadium?

 

I thought I read last year they couldn't get enough camera coverage in some grounds.

Highlights. Only 2 mins. Absolutely quality play from Minamino for the first goal. Brought down but not fouled. Played on as the defender was appealing rightly his innocence and the whistle hadn't gone....

Over 40y of watching football and never ever heard that mentioned before, or even spotted it, I'm going to look out for it now.

18 of the 23 man squad. Ró-Ró is from Portugal, Bassam Al-Rawi is Iraqi-born, Karim Boudiaf is from France, Boualem Khoukhi was born in Algeria and Almoez Ali is from Sudan. 

 

It's not as it once was with a spate of fast-tracked South Americans like Sebastian Soria or Fabio Cesar in the past. Just a relatively young side who've mostly started their careers in Qatar.

The Aspire Academy seems to be such a lab (or man. Maybe they do use a big fat man. We'll never know). There's rumours of them scouting outside the country for that academy to push them into the team, which isn't exactly ideal, but beats handing out passports with every contract.

I've got to work during the final. I'm going to be very apprehensive. Sure it's no world cup but expectations are there. Japan have had the best Asian squads for quite some time. Not always performed though.
