Keita is the new Lucas for us. Where he divides opinion early on, then you start to see how important he is and how good he has become.

That's a bit strong. It's very early in Keita's Liverpool career and he hasn't done anywhere near enough to suggest he'll be decent.

I think he definitely has the potential to be an excellent player but whether or not he can adapt to the Premier League is the difficult matter to gauge.

The same sort of thing was said about Lucas too.

Keita showed glimpses early on he had something, but he needs a longer run in the team to bed in. Being knocked out of cup competitions early hasn't helped with that.

I really enjoyed Lucas throughout his time at Liverpool, I got plenty of stick over him on here I think and definitely from my brothers. But if that is the kind of player they have signed winning the league is even further away than I thought.

I've watched it all so far and the conditions are awful but Newport should have been 2-0 at half time so it isn't actually surprising to see Boro losing this. I'm not sure what Boro were trying to do first half. I'm not sure what they are doing now either. Their fans travelled from the North East to South Wales on a Tuesday and are watching their team not try against Newport - they're watching it in the pouring rain in an away end with no roof too. Boro should pay for their travel/tickets to apologise. I'd be fuming if I was a Boro fan right now. Newport have been effective but the Boro performance is just embarrassing.

Man City really are getting a piss easy streak of cup games this year.

You can blame Tony Pulis for that in the FA Cup.

I don't think they'll enjoy a trip to Rodney Parade - it really is an absolute shit hole.

We made hard work of that!!  We should definitely play a full strength side at Ashton Gate - Bristol City are on a good run of form, there's no replay so we need to make sure we get the job done quickly.

I think it'll be a very tough game.

In other news, Matt Doherty is apparently the Premier League's top goalscoring defender this season in all competitions!  3 in the league, 3 in the FA cup. Scenes!!

No replay?  Didn't realise that.

Shrewsbury did amazingly well in rounds three and four and can count themselves unlucky to have not won the first game, but last night their two goals were completely down to our failures.

We really need to play our strongest possible team against Bristol City.  Too many of our second string just don't step up.

Really hope I can get a ticket, but I'm not confident.

Yeah, joking aside I'd never want my team to lose a game just to spite a rival.  That's just daft!

The atmosphere inside Anfield when Liverpool beat Blackburn on the last day of the season was very odd indeed, then the result from Upton Park came in!

The crowd still wanted to win and still celebrated goals, but yeah. The team though, still didn't roll over to hand United the title and actually did United the biggest favour.

Ugh this is going to end well...

Quote

Nantes have begun legal action against Cardiff City, demanding the first payments for the purchase of Emiliano Sala

.It is understood the Ligue 1 club are demanding an initial payment of £5m is transferred immediately.

Cardiff have not yet paid any of the £15m fee for the Argentine striker.
