Why is it taking so long to confirm who was on board?

I'm guessing before officially announcing a death they have to identify the remains.

And in this case that's going to be really difficult from what's left.

Moving the league Cup to the first half of the season a few years ago has proven to be a rare great idea in Scottish football - teams and fans actually care quite a bit about it now, as it is a great chance to get momentum and set the tone for the season, with big games early on in the calendar. Great day today, first we pumped the Scumbos in their own city, then Rangers crashed out beautifully.

Steven Gerrard now has a worst start to the domestic season than the much-derided Pedro Caixhina.

Quite the fall from grace. Spain had a legitimately good chance of winning the World Cup and he threw that in to get sacked by Madrid in October. I get that if Madrid knock then you answer, but he must have a shitty agent if he couldn't even get them to announce he was taking the job after the tournament.

I've been following Sid Lowe's take on all of this too and agree that Lopetegui has been a dead man walking for weeks, but Madrid wouldn't appoint a new man before the Clasico precisely in case this kind of thing happened. They can have a new start now. I fully expect a mega transfer or two in the summer, possiblity even in January. Neymar and/or Hazard must be short odds.

Anyone witness the terrible footballer that is Moussa Sissoko? His first touch is on a par with Sunday League at times.

Tottenham can't hope to improve when that crap is managing to even get a place in the squad.

City were got tonight, controlled and limited Tottenham throughout.

Not Spurs fault, it's the fucking FA.

100% Spurs fault, the NFL game was always going to be at Wembley and this game shouldn’t have been!

Pitch: essentially Spurs' fault.  The game was supposed to be at the new Tottenham Hotspur Football Stadium ("new White Hart Lane") so Sunday was booked up for NFL football.  Obviously Spurs' project has slipped quite a bit to the point that when they went back to The FA (who own the stadium) to use it, they couldn't do it for Sunday, but it was available for Monday.  Spurs had little choice but to take it.  There was a similar story with the 3rd round League Cup match against Watford, although for that there was no scope for moving the date, and Wembley was already booked, so Spurs ended up having to play it at MK Dons' stadium.

These two examples are a good reason why Levy should just bin off the entire season and announce that Spurs will play all their remaining league and cup games at Wembley, before crucial dates get booked up.  I'm fairly certain that Champions League games need to be played at one stadium for the entire run (yes it's the same with the Premier League games but there's a rule allowing exemptions to be asked for, don't think there is for asking UEFA to grant the same for Champions League fixtures), so if we qualify - which is looking unlikely at this stage - we'll have to continue to play at Wembley but this is no different from last season really as later stage games are always TBA until qualification.

This isn't essentially Spurs' fault - its totally and utterly 100% on them.

I'm surprised at Levy as always think he appears to run a very tight ship - I work in projects and always tell my pm's you can only miss a date by the window you call it early without looking like a pillock or negligent as a rule of thumb (i.e. 2 weeks out you can call a max 2 week delay or you look out of control).

This has missed by so much somebody here hasn't been truthful, and I suspect its Levy who wanted to lock all the fans into the season tickets

I was in there again today. Dunno how relevant it is but everyone is still acting like they'll hit Jan, I heard Feb from someone higher up talking to my boss. Inside the bowl and at pitchside everything looks pretty sweet!
