Mortimer & whitehouse: Gone fishing

I love this, have a warm spot for both of them having grown up with their stuff most of my life.

In fact I'm having a bit of a Bob moment recently - I'm ploughing through the Athletico podcasts ridiculously quickly.. he's become my Alderman :)

Me and the wife love this too. It’s like The Trip crossed with an unscripted episode of the detectorists but the treasure they find gets admired and then returned to the lake for someone else to discover.

I have always had a lot of love for Bob but It would be nothing without Paul’s fish knowledge.

It’s very much like the one they did three men in a boat with Griff.

I loved that. When they stopped off at David Gilmour's house boat/recording studio was great. Then when that wee twatty chef off of Ready Steady Cook was rude to Dara O'Briain. And when they left tea total Griff on his tod while they got pissed and stayed overnight in a local pub.

Just watched the first two episodes of this, and im in the "i like it" camp. i think there's great chemistry between the two. i'd like for the episodes to be a bit longer, with a little more fishing in, but it's lovely slowdown watching.

Some of the locations they've been to are stunning. Did both of them lead fairly hedonistic lifestyles? only neither one of them strikes me as being overly extravagant but both have underlying medical conditions. Loved the bit in the shop where he hugged the cake shelf

Another one who loves it, as do my 2 lads. Made me feel old when they didn't have a clue who Paul Whitehouse was though, I have educated them with some Fast Show since.

It's a nice, funny and warm piece of TV, and Bob is one of my all-time favourite performers (The Athletico Mince podcast is genius).

I think those of us at a certain age (I'm 46) will be more open to this, as Vic and Bob/Fast Show/Shooting Stars etc were all huge when I was at Uni and early twenties.

Just getting round to watching all of this now. It's what id love The Grand Tour to be, just some friends sharing a hobby with each other without all the trying to be controversial shit. It's wonderful. Does make me wonder if I'm getting old a bit early though (im 34)

I enjoyed this, although I would do seeing as it has Bob Mortimer. And it's called Gone Fishing.

It's great to see Bob having a bit of a comeback, what with this, his frequent slots on "Would I lie to you" and the Athletico Mince podcast. When he had his heart scare, he did seem to disappear for a while, but thankfully he's in great form these days.

He’s incredible, and better than he’s ever been. For me, he was always a bit shit compared to Vic Reeves. Like he was trying too hard to be as ‘zany’ as Vic, but it never felt authentic.

Now it’s like he’s found his voice, and he’s much funnier than Vic Reeves ever was.

I got their book for my birthday, only flicked through it so far (I'm trying to get through the first Game of Thrones book) but I did read the recipe for Bobs cauliflower pizza base where he tells you you'll look magnificent wringing out any moisture from the cauliflower rice.
