Do you think Riker will be totally weirded out when he finds out he named his dog after him.

This looks so much better than Discovery.

HYPED

True, but I did enjoy the Disco trailer too.

I'm still very hmmm about this. It still doesn't look much like Star Trek to me, but seeing Picard reunited with his old crewmates still gives me a buzz.

It was a bit Picard turns up in The Expanse. But I mean, that's OK, and I kinda welled up a bit seeing him hug with Riker.

God damn it, will have to sub to yet another streaming service.

Loved the Riker snippets, looks like it could actually be good.

I hope that this show is another fight back against the grimdark future zeitgeist for something more positive. Fingers crossed for Consider Phlebas too, in that regard.

‘Hurry up and do a number two, number one. It’s raining out here!’

I am a bit disconcerted by Data’s mini-afro.

Admittedly that could kinda work with the premise - the world (galaxy) has moved on from 20 years ago and the oldies dont quite recognise it anymore.

I didn’t like that trailer much at all. Seven dual-wielding phasers, Data’s old man fat face and tiny eyes, the general flashiness of it all, no thanks.

Did like Will, Troi, the dog, and that they seem to have chartered an OG Bird of Prey for some reason.

I think (hope) they’re hinting at this with the transport gates we’ve seen in trailers. Getting transported used to feel significant, and had a small amount of ceremony involved, now it’s just walk-in walk-out. Reminds me of connecting to the internet with a 56K modem versus being wireless and always online.

I’m interested to see what @Meh thinks of this latest trailer.

I thought it looked kinda bad. I don't know why, but the brief bit of pew pew space shooty that we saw reminded me of Andromeda. Shit looked like it moved weirdly. I dunno. It all looks a bit cash-grabby.

I'll watch it, of course. I'll even watch Discovery S3. That's just the kind of fucking idiot I am.

Data pretty much looks like he did in Nemesis, which is quite incredible.

I'm up for a bit of nostalgia-of-the-week, though I don't expect much more than that. The new characters seem dreadful.
