Picard and the Titan's crew may as well put their feet up at this point TBH.

Spoiler

When Worf discovers that not only is Vadic torturing his mate Riker, but has also kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, things are going to go very John Wick very quickly.

Oh FUCK. She'll be available after the next season of Discovery as well.

Cancel it all, burn it to the ground, nothing to see here.

When Michael's series ends, everybody should be asking... "Where's Michael?"

The Lower Decks crossover is already sorted with SNW, and upon googling I saw this which I wasn't aware of - and spoilers because it does uncover one thing...

Spoiler

In his late 2022 TrekMovie interview, Frakes did say he reached out to Abrams after Matt Shakman dropped out as the director of the Star Trek 4 project to remind the producer “If you need an experienced guy to take over Star Trek 4, I’m available.” In that same interview, he also said he felt season 3 of Picard “could continue into the next story” and that he would love to be involved with any follow-up show both in front and behind the camera.

= Riker survives!

Random finale thought:

Spoiler

Of course the Enterprise D turns up as already mentioned, and I think I also saw the Enterprise E in the trailer, but I could of confused it with another ship, as they all look a bit similar in NuTrek.

One thing I haven't seen theorised yet, and I guess not that surprising, is about Picard specifically:

I've heard it mentioned by a few people that got an early preview of the show that the ending is a real tear jerker. It seems obvious and perhaps poignant to me, and also due to real life limitations (lol if I'm wrong), that Picard gets killed saving them all. This allows them to segway nicely into this supposed follow up legacy series in the same tone as this final season.

Oh - EDIT and not really a spoiler, but I'll leave it here. Remember that the crew from Lower Decks will be appearing in this with the actual voice actors. Having loved that show I can't wait!!!:omg:

@IcEBuRN Regarding your last spoiler...

The Lower Decks crossover is with Strange New Worlds, not Picard, isn't it?

Ahh shit. Of course you're right. Riker is still on the Titan!

It's like all the star wars shows. I struggle with all the timelines!

Regarding the first paragraph

Spoiler

Specifically regarding the Enterprise E

Spoiler

It's actually the F that will show up at some point. The ship was introduced in Star Trek Online, of all things. I'm not a fan.

Of course, that's not to say the E won't also make an appearance. Why not?

Was a good episode, certainly has me excited to see the next.

The dialogue and 20th century sayings from some of the characters still grates. It's as if Shaw was revived from cryosleep after 300 years.

Loved it.

Apart from the usual bollocks of:

Spoiler

Plot strength phaser and force fields. Force fields were essentially impenetrable 30 years ago on the Enterprise D. Yet one changeling banging on it with it's arm occasionally is enough to almost collapse it...? Come the fuck on! Then the phasers are one minute disintegrating changelings, and next minute leaving a few holes that disables them for a few seconds. Oh, Apart from Vadic of course who seemed completely immune when she legged it.

I know you've got to expect some of that, as we do in all Sci Fi stuff, but that was proper <_<

Spoiler

It made me laugh when Geordi's daughter was running away with the changeling holding a gun pointed right at the back of her head for ages.. but didn't fire 🤣

I'm enjoying this show so much. Yes it still has a few issues but nothing that isn't stopping me really enjoying it.

Wish they'd have just had this story idea from the begining then we could have got a few more seasons of the OG crew, Shaw and Seven.

Yeah, it's a shame. But hopefully its warm reception will spawn more actual good trek in a similar vein, now they know the bullshit discovery formula doesn't work. Though, the Lorca arc  of Season 1 was actually quite decent until the very end when he went comedy villain.

I'm not sure Stewart would have signed up for it if it was. He may have come around for it now, but for the announcement he stated that he came back because the show was doing something completely different with the character.

That could have just been marketing bullshit of course, but if true we might not have got this season without the nonsense that came before.

Yeah, I think that’s probably accurate. On TNG the writers became well practised at throwing Stewart an occasional treat to keep him placated (episodes like doing Die Hard on the Enterprise and Poundland Indiana Jones on Risa) while keeping his character largely on track, but he came to Picard with too much power. It probably took the awful reception of seasons 1&2 to make the penny drop for him.

Well I thought this week's episode was brilliant, and flew by in what seemed like minutes. I honestly cannot believe the degree to which they've turned this show around.

Time to update the thread title perhaps? "Not shit" is faint praise for what is probably the best season of Star Trek we've had in over 20 years.

Steady on now. It's decent, but it's no Strange New Worlds. Also it's still got plenty of time to fall apart before the end. :D

A great cold open that reprises the problem, gives us some good character moments, and advances the story efficiently? In my Star Trek Picard?

Credit to Amanda Plummer for a consistently well judged arch villain performance this season.

I’m convinced that you can see where they ran out of bits of the original pitch after firing Fuller and had to start coming up with things to use the existing sets and props and characters.

I think she was being allegorical, there weren’t any literal cage doors or surgical saws either.
