FIFA 19

I'm surprised by the reminiscing. I think looking at it I suppose another factor is the lack of new members though as well. Generally with most things as people get older and / or move onto other things you have younger / new people come in to take up those reigns and in this instance they would have carried on the league and as numbers have dwindled, couple that with the actual game being a bit disappointing recently that's part of the reason why the league's on here have failed.

Maybe if we give it another go we need to really push promoting it to try and bring new people into the fold? (I'm on a few fifa pages and there are alway's people looking to join the VFL / VFA and all those pro club leagues so that they can get some regular play but they are far too serious time consuming compared to our BAP league).

Would people on here still be up for 1 more BAP if fifa 19 isn't too bad? (The thing is it's got to get the numbers which have dwindled somewhat the last few BAP seasons).

I'd be in for BAP still, I miss that on Thursday. I disagree about the new members though, I think it started to go downhill when a bunch of stalwarts left during the console transition. There are a multitude of factors on top of that, of course, but that was one of the main initial factors.

I'm in.

Happy to set up an Excel doc to run the league, maybe track values that sort of stuff if really takes off again. (Seen as the website sells shoes now :( )

Yeah, I say you need 20-24 for it to be worth while.

We have had recruitment pushes in the past and it just hasnt worked out as outsiders are more likely to come and go, it would have to be built up of core mukkers.

Plus the more Mukkers than come back in, the more others will take notice as well.

Just messing about online and i've come across this and tried creating a website -

https://rllmuk.leaguerepublic.com/l/fg/1_795103580.html

I think the only downside with this is cost again. You can use it for free just to keep track of scores and the teams but then to be able to track players stats etc you have to pay £60 a year so it depends on how important that sort of thing is to people?

So if we are going cheap and cheerful but with the intention of keeping all the features we had previously then the spreadsheet would probably be the way to go.

@smithstock That boils down to people not really wanting to play defense though isn't it? Most new people that turn up hate being stuck at the back and they ultimately leave. Maybe we could look at that? Whether we go with an any or not going forward as well as it's difficult to always get 4 consistantly good any's (that can compete with Jamin)

The cost isn't the downside, I'm sure everyone is happy to chip in. I'd just forget about the defense point too, we don't need people who are not willing to play anywhere.

The real downside is all of the associated factors with running a website, sorting stats, chasing people etc. Hats off the @Steely for offering to do the sheet, I offered previously but there wasn't really any interest and my spare time has gone. I can collaborate and make suggestions but I won't be able to front load things, though I can make a lot of my old stuff available.

We should look to make it low maintenance one-stop-shop which, ideally, is also self balancing, as per my approach for golf.

Cost has been an issue sometimes, loads of people have never chipped in for the running of the website. I'd stick to a free spreadsheet.

I'll buy Fifa if theres enough interest, id have to go digital (broken disc drive) so when numbers are confirmed ill get it.

I was going to swerve Fifa 19, I found myself spending all my in-game on 18 doing SBCs rather than actually playing matches.

And then whenever I did play matches, I didn't enjoy them far more often than I did.

Pro Evo 18 was fun, the demo for 19 plays a great game of footy, so my energy is going there.

HOWEVER... I do miss multiplayer gaming. Especially with some of the fools in here.

So if there's a BAP league happening again... I could be tempted.

I'll get it on disk.

Good man :D

You know you have enjoyed playing fifa with us the past few weeks :)

At least having it on disk you have the option to trade it in should it not be as good as you'd want

I'm happy to come over from Xbox. What will I need? A PS Plus sub. The game obviously. What about for mic? I used an old pair of Sony in ear earphones with a built in mic plugged into my Xbox One pad. Will that work for PS4?

I used to play any and my pro was a RF.
