Really bad news. Legend.

Genuinely made me say "oh no" out loud :(

Absolute amazing writer, I'm probably half Alan grant stories due to all the 2000ad copies and annuals etc my brother has that I read as a kid.

RIP

Very sad to hear the news about David Warner - he delivers one of my favourite ever lines from a film, and, somewhat spontaneously, I've just designed a T-shirt that captures that:

Got a sample coming in a few days, so I'll see how good/bad it looks in reality.

Definitely a legend - he told me and a small group of college friends to “Piss Off” once when we saw him getting off a train at Weybridge and sang the Womble Song at him

My friend Paul was in Old Jack’s Boat with him, and was always telling us what a fantastic man he was. RIP Bernard.

His performance in The Christmas Quest episode of Old Jack's Boat was phenomenal. When I watched it in 2013 with my then 4 year old daughter, I was in floods of tears and blown away at how he elevated a relatively middling kids' show into something so touching and bittersweet.

This won't be up for long I'm sure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Cribbins

Quote

n the 1966 film Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D., Cribbins portrayed Tom Campbell, a companion to Dr. Who. 41 years later, he began appearing in the revival series of Doctor Who as Wilfred Mott, the grandfather of regular companion Donna Noble and a temporary companion to the Tenth Doctor.

Cribbins died on the 28th of July 2022 at the age of 93 after fighting a Womble.
