I hadn't watched any of the New Zealand one yet, but had no idea that Leigh Hart was on it. I would absolutely recommend checking out his other stuff as he's something of a legend over there. My brother-in-law who's a Kiwi showed me this cold and I was crying was laughter. The whole series is ridiculously funny.

EDIT: Full series is here: https://www.moonflix.co.nz/videos/screaming-reels-episode-2

Thanks for this. that channel is amazing. I've been making my way through Late Night Big Breakfast on there. Such a good concept of a show and I love both the fast pace and subtlety of the jokes. This is a pretty good clip to highlight the nature of it

That show is so good, they’ve got such a great knack for mimicry. Do yourself a favour and look up Speedo Cops too.

I really didn’t like Ursula though.

She is fucking awful. And she seems to laugh more at her own jokes than the audience do.

I'm struggling with Jeremy just as much though. If they held auditions and he was the best choice I'd hate to see the others. He just doesn't seem able to utter a single word unless he's reading the autocue. He just lacks any decent adlib skills.

I googled her and have never seen that lady before in my life. What’s up with her?

She presents Only Connect on BBC4 and is on a lot of panel shows. She used to be a professional poker player as well.

Her comedy persona is a kind of gently condescending/aloof character so I think it'll be quite funny throwing that type of act into the Taskmaster chaos.

I am absolutely in love with her. As a poker player she was great fun. First person to win the Euro PokerStars  tournament twice, and all the while being lovely and chatty and drinking tea, whilst her opponents were often surly bastards in shades and hoodies trying to be as inscrutable as possible. Her book on Poker "For Richer, For Poorer" is well worth a read. Her earlier book Once More With Feeling covers her attempts with a friend to make the best porn film ever (where they forget to put any straight sex in, IIRC. Got everything else in, just not actual bog standard sex).

Her persona on Only Connect takes some getting used to, but it makes me laugh. Also, there's the Ormerod Hoax, which is kinda funny. I suspect she'll be quite a lot of fun  on TM (possibly in a Liza Tarbuck kind of way):

Quote

In 2007, after the death of her father (edit: the writer Alan Coren), having put a notice in The Times inviting those who knew him to attend a service, she was warned by a friend that a "gang of serial funeral crashers" based in the south of England were checking death notices to find funerals and memorial services to crash for their own enjoyment. After receiving some suspicious email replies to her notice, she instigated a hoax to trap the group. She created "Sir William Ormerod", along with an online encyclopaedia entry, and placed a death notice. A week later, she placed another notice in The Times "in the guise of his grieving boyfriend Peter" for his memorial service "followed by a drinks reception". She reported that the group duly claimed to have known Ormerod and applied for tickets.

After first suggesting holding the memorial service and putting laxative in the canapés, she got a friend to telephone the ringleader (a serial fraudster and ex-magistrate) to let it be known that she knew who they were and that he was not welcome, but she let the others in the gang come to her father's service, "gave them a drink and sent them on their way".

POSSIBLE SERIES 13 LINE UP REVEALED

Someone posted the supposed S13 line up on Reddit the other week (they started filming the studio segments). Presumably they will reveal the cast at the end of the current series.

Spoilered below, with the caveat that it might be wrong. (The post on Reddit was deleted shortly after it was posted, but not before I screengrabbed it).

Spoiler

New cast are Ardal O'Hanlon, Chris Ramsay, Judi Love, Sophie Duker and Bridget Christie.

That lineup seems more suited to those special mini Christmas series...

Seems pretty strong to me.

I rewatched the first episode of this series again last night - it's a cracking opener, and hopefully the start of a great series. I don't think there's a weak link in the contestants - they were all good fun. Alan Davies is a great addition. He can switch between being amusingly incompetent and actually pretty shrewd at the drop of a hat, and is perfectly happy being the butt of jokes, or self-deprecating. He fills the "old codger" role beautifully. But Morgana definitely looks set to be the star of the series (I love a good swear, and she's very good at it).

Good episode tonight. Victoria proved she's not as much of a dick as her prick of a brother.

Morganna was excellent again. But surely I can't be the only one that was disappointed when Sonia appeared in the EastEnders snowglobe and she didn't do her impression.
