So, did we know before now that Daisy Mae is Joan’s granddaughter? Lots of speculation was she was her daughter. Good to know the old sow is still running the market behind the scenes though.

Top tip: if you want ants for your museum, then

Spoiler

Leave a bunch of turnips outside for the week, don’t sell them, and on the following Sunday they become rotten and if you hang around you’ll see a line of ants to catch. :D

Actually, scratch that, just got back to my island and there are no turnips in my pockets, just lots of bells in my wallet. I definitely bought them. The online in this is a complete mess, yikes.

Strange, I've had no issues at all so far. My connection has been intermittently playing up this morning, though.

Yeah strange enough, but Probably is not your fault but my provider is not giving the right NAT this morning, exactly the turnip morning...

Earlier, I went to check out the tent at the campsite. The prospective villager there looked way too similar to Sherby who already lives here, so I was immediately like, nah, you can leave. Except ... the only two dialogue options available to me were 'You should live here!' and 'Move here!' with no option to cancel out of the conversation.  If you have no choice, what's the point of the campsite? Why don't they just move straight in one day?

Gutted, bought turnips last night from someones island in Asia and this morning they have already soiled! 35K down the drain :(

Luckily turnip lady is still an hour behind thanks to my Switch being in sleep mode so I've been able to buy some more.

Somehow got Rank A for my house today even though I've only got 2 rooms, got a banner as a reward!

It's not so bad. I managed to get a bunch when I visited @Lyrical Donut earlier (before the online crashed) so I'm not totally without!

I got Rank S for my house, although I don't understand what the game is using to determine that.

So basically don't touch a thing for the remainder of the game...

No problem, no one could have predicted that. I'm guessing that because my Sunday started this morning, the game just checks any turnips you have on you and ruins em, the games assuming you had them all week. So it should be ok to buy from people who are behind in time zone (USA etc) but not in the 'future' (Japan, China etc for us Euro players).

They say to go to Tom Nook if you want them to move in. Either don't, or tell Nook no.

My DIY blank Amiibo tags have arrived and I've downloaded all 370+ AC cards so now I can choose who I want to move in! Just need to get rid of a couple of starter critters first, anyone got any good tips apart from ignoring them and whacking them with a net every now and again?

Tom Nook didn't give me an option either. I got two dialogue options which again gave me no choice in the matter and was handed a construction item to choose where my unwanted villager should move in. It's fine though - there's a spot miles away from everything else up in the northern cliffs that no one can access without a ladder. Perfect spot.

Maybe it's just the first camper you can't refuse? Because it's part of Nook's 'campaign', as it were?

That's weird, my mistake. Of course, I wonder if you can just store the camping kit until the animal leaves, and see what happens when a new one comes. I expect the plans item is just a generic one that moves in whoever the current campsite visitor is, as opposed to having the value of the animal that you spoke to at the time stored with it.

And likely yeah, you can't reject the first animal because: tutorial. Good call.

Is the amiibo function available from the start, or does it unlock at a certain point? I’m sure Nook mentioned it a few days ago but can’t remember what triggered it.

You can use it in the photo studio or with the campsite. Just tested my first self created card, Blair, works a charm!
