Xbox and Microsoft gift cards do get reduced from time to time. A £5 Microsoft card is normally 5,850 points, but has been reduced to 4,410 a few times. I'm not sure how often this happens though.

Doesn't seem to be much pattern as to what gets reduced, but the hot deal does end on the 15th of each month with it changing to a new one there or thereabouts.

This month's hot deal is..... skype credit! Quick everyone, get redeeming. Or not. Some nutter on reddit has been scouring the history to try work out a pattern, pretty sure this is mainly US (I don't think last year's pattern fully matches ours, certain we had ms or xbox credit in Sept, for one) but certainly we've had the same deals for the last 3 months so maybe we're on the same track now. Whether it actually continues like this who knows.

Actually, quick look in this thread and my order history shows our hot deals have been

Jul: MS Credit (20% off)

Aug: Xbox Credit (20% off)

Sep: MS Credit (30% off)

Oct: Gamepass (25% off)

Nov: MS Credit (30% off)

Dec: XBL Gold (20% off)

Jan: Skype (25% off)

So we've been on the same deal as the US for the last 5 months.

20% off Xbox reward cards until 18/03/2019.

£5 for 5000 points. Time to cash in your points.

I actually managed to get £70 back thanks to that offer. I didn't realise how many points I had been building up! All digital with games though, which obviously helps.

£10 credit is 10,000 points as well, but the way.

And £15 is 15000 points ;) I'm wondering whether to bother this time (will have enough to redeem 2x £30 in about a week and a half), the last couple of credit deals have been 30% off at 4410 points for a fiver but maybe that was a, er, two off. Although if the pattern holds then MS gift cards won't be back on 'til May.

Only messing about, although I don't think the number of vouchers you can redeem is limited - I've done half a dozen in one go before, but that'll have been back when the lower redemption values had a better £/point ratio.

And yeah, credit expires in 3 months (*Promotional gift card. Spend within 90 days of deposit.) but it's usually not an issue and oldest credit always gets used first on purchases. You used to be able to see the various end date(s) of your credit under Payment & Billing > Payment Options but I've got £6.75 of credit in there that should run out on 14th March and there's no date on it so I've no idea what's going on there. Not sure I fancy leaving it to time out just to see what happens.

I've been donating to (I think) the special Olympics, with the match funding Microsoft are doing, but this has come at a good time as I'll get at least $10 out of it.

Shame the credit only lasts 90 days, but honestly I just tend to horde points until an offer like this comes up and then fetch something I've been meaning to get. The last time I cashed in was Christmas, and had the $25 Xbox pad dongle for the PC for free. That still blows my mind a bit, from doing daily quizzes.

Hoping to squeeze another 5000 points out over the next 19 days... I only need another 4600...

That's going to be somewhere between extremely tricky and impossible, unless you've got two accounts and gift some points from one to the other. Easy, then.

edit: I revise this down to just very tricky, I'd forgotten the 12 point daily Edge bonus. With that and a fair wind with some of the extra dailies (there are 3x 10 today, good start!) you should just make it as long as you don't miss a day.

Looks like a load of "quests" have been added to the Xbox app. Earn various numbers of achievements in various gamepass games for some pretty decent rewards.

Ok the Xbox itself? Not seeing that here.

Yeah. Through the rewards app. Looks like a total 1720 points available through the quests and they're on until end of March.

Quests are as follows:

Aftercharge - Complete two achievements for 200 points.

Hellblade : Senua's Sacrifice - Complete two achievements for 200 points.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Complete two achievements for 200 points.

Get an achievement in a February gamepass game for 100 points.

Get four achievements in ID@Xbox games for 400 points.

Discover new games for 20 points.

Complete all quests for 500 points.

- - - - - -

And it looks like you can earn achievements that will satisfy multiple categories.

I'm actually quite impressed how much credit you can get doing this, even without any multiple accounts jiggery pokery. I started doing it daily at the start of the year (I've only forgotten twice since then) and I've managed to get £30 of credit in less than 3 months. I know the sale has helped that, but I reckon you can still maintain nearly a tenner a month for very little effort (I tend to do it while sat on the bog in work).

I was doing it just to bring the price of MK11 down a bit (I should get £35 off by the time I preorder), but I'm going to keep building points for when the next thing comes that I have to get at launch. Which isn't very often, so I'm aiming for getting my next game "free".

So the achievement tracking part of this is broken, yeah?

It hasn’t tracked my achievement for MX vs ATV (Pedal to the metal)

and has only registered one of my 5 achievements for Operencia.

Yep last months worked fine but it’s buggered again - will email support once I give up trying to get the absolver or elder scrolls online ones as they seem like more hassle than they are worth.
