Played 2-2 this afternoon, comfortably my favourite level so far. Spent ages exploring but couldn't find the last two bots.

Then started 2-3 before there was a knock at the door, so had to leave it there. Should have just locked the door and kept playing.

I can’t recall seeing any opportunities for this, but not done the final level yet.

Early on this one. I think you can get it when the tutorial shows you how to do the spin attack in the middle of the centipede enemies.

Actually, could be a spoiler since I'm unsure yif you mean last planet, or last stage. Forget I posted this.

But yeah, one later stage has a few chances.

 No worries!

Normally I don't give a rat's ass about what would otherwise be seriously minor spoilers, but this game has a knack for making even the most common mechanic or environments feel like the designers were the first ones  to ever come up with the idea, they feel that fresh.

I don’t normally care about trophies, but I was so close to the platinum at the end that I figured I might as well just clean up the last few. Excellent game. Definitely the best ‘full-fat’ title I’ve played in VR. Real attention to detail to push it from good to great. Even the challenge levels don’t feel tacked on.

Just make sure you don't drop your hat as if you play a certain big release you may never get it back.

If you’re talking RDR2 it’s amazing, loving it so far, epic vistas etc. but it didn’t blow me away like Astro Bot did.

Yeah, that's the one. Personally I'm going to wait a week or three and pick up a second hand copy from CEX.

Finished world two

Spoiler

The water and mine cart levels have been my favourite so far, just feels great in the world.

The mine cart level was a particular surpise, and I was 'pulled' off balance a couple of times. A highlight so far, can see myself replaying that a lot.

Pretty decent boss fight too.

Completed the main game and all challenges last night (some of which were absolute bastards). Now just waiting for my daughter to get all items from the shop and that’ll be the Platinum trophy in the bag.

Definitely my game of the year

That bit in 3-2 where you have to

Spoiler

Turn the controller vertically to flick a shuriken through the bars of the cage

is a better bit of interface design than anything I’ve played in years.

Just another quiet moment of genius in a game that’s full of them.

Well finally got my VR headset all plugged in for the first time in a while and wow!!!!

i am only up to 2-2 but this is the best quality VR game already!

Some really clever ideas I just wasn’t expecting and really pleased it isn’t bad on the VR legs either especially as I haven’t used it in a while.

Looking forward to another hour tomorrow night and fully recommend this to anyone with a PS4. Just get a VR headset and play this and Tetris!

£24 on amazon seems fair. Is it a smallish game?

You're possibly looking at around 5-6 hours for the main game and there's a bucket load of challenges to master.

I think it's well worth the cash. I'd have given it a ten if gamesTM had come out.

Dont let the price or game length influence your decision. Just pick it with the assurance that you are buying one of the best games released this year.

Great.

That sounds good as I'm not really into spending too much time wearing the headset.

Shorter is better for me, more so if its all good content rather than padding.

I'll order a copy later as it looks very fine.

I bought a PS4 last week for RDR2, but also with an eye on getting VR (I'd had a brief dabble with an early OR years ago and loved it). A friend lent me his kit a couple of days ago, so I played the obvious choices - Rez, Wipeout and loved them, and then I remembered dipping into this thread and reading all the praise. So I downloaded the demo, and gave it a play last night.

I was frankly gobsmacked - it's just SO lovely - incredibly charming, and filled with little things that had me grinning from ear-to-ear. It's truly special. I'd already decided to buy the kit myself before this, but now it's essential. I'm going to hand the kit back shortly, and will save buying the full thing until I buy my own  (payday is 16 days away...), but if this doesn't end up being my GOTY I'd be very surprised.
