Very difficult to express how much I loved that. Holy shit I love this show. I think "it's making me love Star Wars again" hits the nail on the head. You can tell it's made by people who love Star Wars making what they would want to see, rather than a committee of people desperately trying to hit on what they think Star Wars fans want. Also Ming Na Wen is 57 years old. Been watching Agents of Shield Recently and that fact continues to blow my mind.

Lordy me, that was fantastic stuff. The last two episodes have been absolutely bang.

I’m glad people who didn’t like the new trilogy are loving this. I absolutely loved Force Awakens and Last Jedi (Rise of Skywalker less so), so this just adds to that, rather than acting as mental mouthwash for those films.

I didn’t really like Rogue One, as I felt it was trying too hard to be “grown up Star Wars” and cater to the demographic that think Star Wars shouldn’t be ‘for kids’ anymore. It didn’t have the swashbuckling romance and goofy humour that for me is an essential Star Wars ingredient.

However, Mandalorian manages to somehow do some incredible alchemy that gets big kids like me, extended universe geeks, children, and non-Star Wars fans, all going absolutely nuts for it.

In what is a dreadful year, this has been the highlight of my week. I couldn’t be happier.

Yeah I agree, Rogue One as a spy/heist movie with the same sort of tone as this would've been brilliant.

I love that all that happened this episode is

Spoiler

they defended a hill

and yet it was loads of fun and really gripping.

I was thinking that while I was watching it, most of it is just one location and three named cast members and ten extras and a bunch of squibs. And it's just so well shot and edited and you're so invested in everyone that it's absolutely gripping.

I remember when I was about 8 I used to record the A-Team, then as soon as it was the finished rewind the tape and watch it again. I feel like doing that right now with this episode!

EDIT: I did it, preceded by season 1’s Tatooine episode, which I could hardly remember.

So they actually retconned

Spoiler

Jango being a Mando, which makes sense. They never explained how he got the armour in previous material, only that he wasn't considered Mandolorian.

Great episode, full of pew pew's and genuinely entertaining TV.

Freakin' fabulous.

Spoiler

After all this time we finally get to see Boba Fett being an actual badass! Such a great episode, both in itself and as a setup for the continuing story. Super stoked to see Robert Rodriguez' name at the end, he's a great director and probably one of the best people to turn to when it comes to shooting action with a super limited crew, hopefully he'll be back for more. I hear he has a buddy who's also a massive film nerd that loves Sci-fi and Westerns, wonder if he'll get dragged in for the fun too... ;)
