I guess, but Filoni’s always rooting for the underdog.

We kind of already had his heroic return if you check out who played his Jedi saviour. ;)

I know, see my post above. A triumph!

Spoiler

Grogu left in Jar Jar’s ambassador ship though, possibly heading to Naboo. Grogu must have been holed up somewhere for the intervening 30+ years between Order 66 and Mando.

Gunga city?? A hidden underwater civilisation is a pretty safe hiding place.

That's actually not a bad shout. We know Boss Nass was still around as he was at Padme's funeral.

I was waiting for them to make Grogu a miniature helmet with slots on the side for his ears to stick out, though.

Cynical view maybe, but I'm guessing that Mandalorian Grogu will be revealed shortly before Christmas.

The very idea that they would create this cute puppet with massive, sympathetic eyes that everyone loves, and then have him wear a stupid little opaque helmet at all times, is so utterly absurd I look forward to seeing it become a reality, as the viewing figures for the show coincidentally crash and burn.

How’re they going to teach him not to eat in front of people. Guy won’t stop eating when the survival of a bloodline is at stake and the heirs are what he’s chewing on.

Very good.

Spoiler

Was initially a little disappointed we didnt get another one of those bottle episodes as it first seemed, but enjoyed what we had instead. And they were pretty economical in getting quite a lot of set-up value from those bits given their brevity.

Wonder if any of that was a nod to the fighter squadron series being made?

Either way, New Republic really looking like it deserves what it gets, and you can start to see how the resistance ends up forming from its more frustrated members, but also why their resources were so limited.

No idea what that end scene is implying. Guessing most likely case is some other bunch somewhere, as I think our existing wildcards are accounted for - Bo is with the audience, Boba is busy (and too old for this shit), Cobb had to give back his stuff. Maybe the other owls from S2?

Live action zeb from Star Wars rebels!!! He has to be in the upcoming Ashoka show

Spoiler

Was that actually him or another of his species? I let out a little squeal when I seen him and then missed what the characters were talking about as I tried to compose myself.

Great episode and a few things now coming together nicely.

Grogus voice. Can it be Papa Lazarou please?

What is Luke doing now with all this trouble kicking off? Moping around?

Final scene - I feel they should have used the words "Sneak attack?!"

”another of his species”, do you even Star Wars bro?

Spoiler

Yeah I know he was meant to be the last but wasn’t sure if how Rebels ended was suggesting more survived or they were going to largely ignore the history of the species and just have this other character as a cool nod to those that watched Rebels.

A lot of people are going to have absolutely no idea who he is. In fact more people might think it’s Cal’s Master Jaro from Fallen Order who actually survived the purge and now hides out as a Rebel pilot

Quite enjoyable

Spoiler

Dropping Zeb in felt precisely calculated to ward off my curmudgeon about the series for a week at least.

Still, the Mandos are becoming even more of a creepy cult by the week. The Armourer was being proper weird with Bo. Really fundamentalist fervour kind of vibes.

Also their creed seems to be completely wishy-washy as ever - if someone with authority can just tell you to take your helmet off it's barely a creed at all.

Also, it's no wonder The New Republic didn't give a shit about Nevarro: in that wide shot on the rocks the populace appeared to be made up of a few bar staff, Dodgy Dave, John the Pies, and Daphne the Dirt Farmer.

It continues to be a mix of very good and frustratingly slapdash, but I’ll take that. Nice nod to Ice Cream Guy from Bespin when the people were evacuating.

I like how all the threads are coming together, and the New Republic is almost reflexively the opposite of the Empire’s ruthless efficiency, with their well-meaning ineptitude.

She's the armorer though so surely she'd be able to have permission to take the helmet off espeically for things like repairs? Might be why she's seen with such religious tones.

With all this stuff about helmets not being removed, pro-creation must be awful.

Do we think they strip down to everything BUT the Helmet? The scene:

"Who are you tonight Viffy?"

"A Mandolorian. Again."

"...this is the way"

.

.

.

"How about we do it the other way"

"No."

Maybe they don't even procreate, just take other peoples kids and call them foundlings.

Anti-cuckoos?

While that episode was enjoyable- the way the plot advanced felt somewhat amateurish? Like a sixth former was at the helm. I continue to have doubts about Favreau's skill as a story teller.
