What are you playing Christmas Day?

I usually look for a game with snowy or icy environments to get me in the festive mood (I miss white Christmases :( .)  A couple of Christmases ago I played Batman Arkham Orgins which was a great festive game as it's set around Christmas Eve in game.  I ve got a huge Steam back log and I'm hoping there must be a Christmas themed game in there somewhere.  Any suggestions?0

Bloodborne, with all the curtains drawn and the doors locked.

I wish. I’ll be cooking dinner, so my boys will probably be playing Spider-Man most of the day. If I get chance I’ll be on RDR2 or Destiny Forsaken. Or the aforementioned Bloodborne. Or Below, if it’s any good.

God, I love Christmas.

At the in-laws this year, where it doesn't really happen. We did Wii Sports Tennis once, all those years ago, but we all knew at the time it was a one-off, never to be repeated.

I'll take the Switch but I imagine my eldest will get the most use out of it. The absurdity of my profession is that these days I see Christmas as an excuse *not* to sit around playing games all the time.

Once we get back home, though, all bets are off. Lots of things I've skipped or only played a few hours this year have been niggling away at me. God Of War and Obra Dinn at the top of the list. Probs just Destiny though eh.

Nowt of my own choice as will be away/out of the country for a week or so as always. But will probably have a go on BLOPS4 and FH4 as got them for my nephew. Or just fall asleep on the sofa, now I do like that game a lot (and am very good). :)

My brother will be bringing his Switch to my mum's, so hopefully some Smash. Failing that, I'll sneak some Artifact whilst everyone else watches Doctor Who, or whatever other shite is on the telly.

Or whatever the missus buys me, assuming there's something gamey in there.

I'm with my folks in the UK for Christmas this year and I'm thinking of dusting off the Spectrum and digging out Bullseye. We used to love playing that on Christmas day, a tradition which just kind of stuck ever since I got the Magnum light phaser one year. Be curious to see if we remember all the answers to the questions!

Aside from that, I'm still trying to decide weather to pick up Just Cause 4, Soul Calibur 6, Detroit or Darksiders 3 as the big Chrimbo game. Opinions on that welcome!

I followed the bargain hunters and bought both Starlink and Dropmix in the last couple of weeks and then spent the same again on extras...so probably Dropmix after Christmas dinner with the twenty-somethings while my wife watches Eastenders or whatever other trash is on TV. I'll make a start on Starlink on Boxing Day. I'm lucky enough to be off work til 2 Jan so having ploughed well over 100 hrs into RDR2 in November I'm planning to do RDR next.

In my head I'd love the 4 of us to enjoy hours of Mario Party and Overcooked but it won't happen.

AT 115 hours, I'm in the final run towards the end of DQXI so I think Astrobot after I've sorted dinner out and perhaps get RDR 2 installed.

If you're planning on playing Red Dead 2 on the day itself then plan ahead. It comes on 2 blu-rays and takes about 2 hours to install.

I've bought myself a GPD Win for Christmas so I'll be tinkering about with Emulators and Roms, setting up my Steam account on it and seeing how well certain games run, then I'll probably stream my Xbox One to it and play Red Dead 2 for the first time, in another room, on a handheld, just because I can

Yeah, I want to have a good few hours on it to start, so I won't be doing anything else after installing it. I think Astro will fit the bill for a quick blast.

DQ XI is absolutely sublime, Gossi. If you're used to the series, stick stronger monsters on as it's a bit like playing Halo on normal setting otherwise.

117 hours in and I don't want it to end. Pinnacle of the series.

Jeez, I was forgetting all of the various games I picked up in offers, 'just in case'... Spiderman, Witcher III, Yakuza 6, Astrobot VR, DQ XI, Ni No Kuni 2, Octopath Traveller.

I'm going to emerge blinking into the watery, January sun like Gollum, some time after XMas...

I'll probably do the same thing I've done for a while - slam in some Christmas steam vouchers in the morning, buy an absolute glut of sales games and let them download while I'm out with the family, and get to playing them in the evening.

Ideally, Katamari Reroll, because the original really did make me appreciate and enjoy videogames again. It's only fair to devote my time to it again during the holidays, along with an umpteenth playthrough of A Link To The Past.
