Alien Isolation Is Getting A Sequel

Recommended Posts

And it's for mobile devices... :(

Today Fox announced that a sequel to Alien Isolation was on the way. It's called Alien: Blackout and while some fans of the terrifying stealth-driven game might be enthused by this news, they might also want to take a seat for the next bit. The game is for mobile devices exclusively.

Alien: Blackout has you guiding Amanda Ripley and her crew through "seven fear-inducing levels" in a setup that sounds familiar to Five Nights at Freddy. You'll be managing a space station, jumping from cameras and dealing with damaged controls to try and defeat the beast. The game promises multiple conclusions based on your choices.

Excuse me whilst I go and have a sneaky cry in the work toilets.

An optimist would suggest this will play like the APC scenes in Aliens, but a pessimist would ask why it’s not using Aliens in that case.

Hmm, sounds like it's harking back to the Alien / Aliens games in the Speccy. Could be alright I guess. Not in lieu of a proper Isolation sequel though :(

Clearly RAGE 2, as that actually has a massive budget and even bigger scope than the original, while this is a cheap mobile game with little in common with the previous game.

Could be good?

Still keeping a candle burning for a true Isolation sequel, nevertheless; this is sequel in name only. A game without the Alien license but the same gameplay would be your proper sequel.

People are saying it's just like a reskinned Five Nights at Freddies. It sure does look like that, with the power levels and all...

No, it just didn't grab me, but I probably didn't get far enough. I've been planning on giving it a proper second chance since forever. Soon!

WILL YOU SURVIVE? ...BEFORE THE POWER GOES OUT

ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICE??!!

Truly terrifying stuff! Is this a new 'you must clear this game on one battery charge' feature?

"A horrifying new chapter in the Alien saga"

At least the advertising is honest.

And to think you made me feel guilty for not owning a Wii U.

Survival horror on Mobile.. FFS that's Trump levels of genius, right there. :(

I was genuinely hoping for a VR based follow-up to Isolation.

One does not cancel out the other!
