Ghostbusters 2 wasn’t that bad...

I think it's unwatchable, but I've seen Answer the Call three times. Cast is fantastic, it was a mistake to ad lib so much and the ending is dire but they deserved a second shot and a better script given how it's acceptable nowadays to have a success like Crimes of Grindelwald or the Marvel movies and just go "oh, it made no sense but it's building to something so that's ok."

Split this off into its own topic as it does genuinely seem to be happening.

I can't see them getting Bill Murray back.

@Goose there was an interview at the end of last year if i rember that Akyroid was hinting that this was coming and that after many years Murry may be on board - im guessing for Sony to greenlite this then murry prob has to be as i cant see them ready to jump back into the franchise so soon after the failure of answer the call - unless they could reunite the old cast somehow ala force awakens

Bring Murray back as a ghost. They may do something interesting with that and he may be up for something different like that too.

"I wouldn't be seen dead in a ghostbusters sequel"

"how about a bag of money, and we make you a ghost?"

"am I busted in the first reel?"

"sure"

"sign me up!"

The non-canon alternate universe Ghostbusters movie. See also Highlander 2 and the Peter Cushing Dr Who movies.

I still find the unironic use of "canon" to describe genre fiction plot-lines semi-hilarious when I remember how ridiculous it sounds to liken nerds arguing on a BBS to dark ages monks illuminating holy manuscripts. Though maybe that's the point..

Whatever it turns out to be, I'll be spending a good portion of it missing Harold Ramis. I appreciate Egon's dry humour more and more as I get older.
