Remind me of the name of this sci fi book...

I think I read it after seeing it recommended in here, a good few years ago ...

It's part of a series, I think. I only read the first two, there may be more and I was wondering how the story ends. 

The premise is that a deadly flare of energy is shooting towards the Earth from a distant star system. The governments collaborate to build a big sort of space mirror to deflect it away. 

The plot revolves around a murder mystery on the space station where the mirror is controlled from. 

It's called "Star Fire" or "Star Burst" or something, but Googling names like that hasn't turned anything up.
