So can Stan Edgar

teleport, or move super fast?

In this scene with the Church leader

he seems to just appear with a rush of air.

Maybe I need to rewatch it.

Spoiler

Wasn't that to show A-Train had zipped by somewhere, prior to him popping out from behind the door later in the scene?

I loved Homelander's attempts to be a good dad and his obvious discomfort when Stormfront was teaching Ryan about white supremacism.

The white genocide scene was great. It’s also great that this show is highlighting the batshit cray that is being peddled in the US mainstream with these nazis in plain sight.

Thought the series was a bit slow but the finale was great.

Perhaps it is because he seems to have cleaned up his act since he 'found religion'. Recreational drugs and alcohol are generally not a great mix for an elite athlete. Also, now that his condition is public knowledge he may have it under control with medication.

Yeah, I guess. It just seemed very throwaway for something that I thought would define that character for a bit.

Spoiler

So I get why some people are annoyed that Discount AOC is evil because there's a valid complaint about suggesting 'both sides are just as bad'. But, fuck me. I did not see that coming. Jesus. If they played that any other way - her lacking fear of homelander etc it would have been too obvious. Even rewatching the hearing scene it's clearly her doing the popping.

I really like Giancarlo Esposito, but it's getting to the point where he is playing the same character no matter what he is in. Still rumoured to be an upcoming villain in the MCU don't forget.

He's great at playing the villain but Edgar is no where near Gus Fring. They aren't even remotely the same to me. Fring is so cold and calculating and another level of evil. Edgar is just another evil CEO.

Anyway, that was a great season finale, I fucking loved

Spoiler

watching Stormfront getting the shit kicked out of her by Maeve, Kimiko and Annie. It was fucking excellent and I enjoyed that alot.

So much of this season was a massive dig at Trump and his America wasn't it. Even though it wasn't even subtle, any dig towards that cunt is always good in my book.

That reveal at the end too with

Spoiler

Neuman was very interesting. Wonder what her endgame here is.

I felt like Kimiko was a bit sidelined this season, to its detriment, and would have liked to see more of her kicking ass. But overall really enjoyed it and devoured each episode with gusto. Gutted it’s all over for another season.

It kind of is at first, and there's a couple of subtle nods (she glances behind her as someone pulls her away from the window, and someone's head pops; she's clearly looking at the chair as his head explodes; you kind of assume she's looking at vogelbraum); but I'm less convinced once she's been bundled into the corner. Heads continue to pop.

The funny thing with the court scene when when I watched it multiple times before this week was that I was surprised how everyone’s head was popping but AOC seemed to miraculously survive.

I put it down to plot armour as that scene heavily focused on her apparent reaction/panic

What was the point of the head popping woman who escaped from the psychiatric facility then?

I must admit I thought it was her doing the head popping in court, and then I thought she was somehow able to pretend to be the congresswoman, who she’d got rid of.

So we’d never suspect Neuman of being the culprit. Facility woman was even in the recap before episode 7 so that we would associate her with the head popping scene later, despite her not appearing at all in the episode. Very clever misdirection indeed by Eric Kripke - he planted the thought in our heads by manipulating us in how the recap was put together.

Spoiler

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBoys/comments/j7qpd9/spoiler_what_stormfront_said_in_this_episode/

Stormfront mumbled something in german in this episode while she was dying. Here is what she said:

"Es war so schön. Wie wir dort zu dritt gesessen, im Schatten eines Apfelbaums.

Erinnerst du dich an den Tag Frederick? Chloe hat die Arme aus dem Autofenster gestreckt. Wir haben den perfekten Platz am Fluss gefunden, im Schatten eines Apfelbaums. Es war das erste mal dass Chloe frische Äpfel gegessen hat."

Translation:

"It was so beautiful. How the three of us sat there, in the shade of an apple tree.

Do you remember the day Frederick? Chloe's arms out of the car window. We found the perfect spot by the river, in the shade of an apple tree. It was the first time Chloe ate fresh apples."

Edit:

I understood a bit more. This is what she says while Homelander and Ryan talk: "... war so glücklich. Es war herrlich. Ich wollte dass er nie zu Ende geht."

Translation:

"... was so happy. It was wonderful. I wanted it to never end."

Thought the finale was great.

Spoiler

Stormfront’s beating was a strange watch. Immensely satisfying yet also never enjoy seeing someone receive a gruesome beating. Shame to lose Stormfront but we needed a payoff given she’d been such a...well, cunt!

Some great humour in there and the writers obviously had fun with the misdirection.

Spoiler

Slightly unsatisfying reveal at the end but completely unexpected. Will be interesting to see if Neuman is a Vought stooge or doing her own thing. Given the court heads popping it looks like she’s pushing Vought’s agenda.

I assume Fresca was just a total red herring? Seems like it was just an in joke.

Deep has become a great comedy release. His petulant little parting shot about Fresca to Adana was really well done. He’s pathetic.

Homelander continues to knock it out of the park. Really interested to see where they take him. Lots of scope given how things ended.

It is weird to feel so satisfied by the look in a monster's eyes as you realise he's not a white supremacist in addition to everything else.

I think he thought he was, but when confronted by the actual real, horrific thing in Stormfront  it gave him pause. It’s probably how a lot of our real-life send-em-back brigade would be if actually confronted with the consequences of what they think they want.

I took it to be especially poignant for him because it was his son that was being told these things. As if he didn't really care before if she damaged anyone else, racist shmayshist, but damaging *his son* with that crap - that brought it home to him.
