Does anyone have any tips for Pocket Card Jockey? ‘The Fastest Nag’ was doing great winning the early races, but I lost all my last ones as a colt and now on the mature races I’m coming 9th and 10th, doesn’t seem to matter how well I start or how many perfect clears I get on solitaire, so I’m obviously missing something.

Cheers!

Although thinking about it, I cannot remember that I made files on my PC to transfer my data from one 3DS to another.

Is it possible to simply use the built-in transfer tool and select "transfer all data" to move your data between 3DS's without losing your photos and street passes?

You'll need to breed better horses, the game has a long life in it. It's possible, I've won all the races over time but it did take a lot of horses to do it.

How much is an New 3DS worth these days?  I've the non-XL version with the snes coloured buttons and a faux wood Mario faceplate.  Its been sitting in my drawer doing nothing for years so might move it on.

I bought one second hand a few months ago (my original got water spilled on it) and I paid about 95 quid for one with no box.

I dug mine out to play "Attack Of The Friday Monsters" and the 3ds xl is flat as a pancake and ill be damned if I can find my sodding charger for it.

I wish it was USB-C as I have an abundance of those wires kicking around.

Fingers crossed one will turn up at a car boot sale cheap so I can give it a play again.

I still have that USB to 3DS Charging cable I got ages ago, but I'm hesitant to use it.  It worked, sure, but the charge level never seemed to be the same as it would be if you used a 'proper' charger and I worried that I was damaging the unit.

I’ve had a 3DS now for about 3 or 4 months and I love it to bits, but I’ve got 2 issues, and I wondered if the community might be able to advise me.

First of all, the coating on the back plate has started to wear away, meaning the underside, below the outer coating, is now exposed to the air (and my hands), which has led to it oxidising and turning black. It looks crappy, but also there’s no sign of it stopping, so I just want to replace it with another one. Has anyone used a reputable website to buy replacement cases? Amazon seems useless.

The other problem is the battery - the one it came with kept a fairly poor charge - maybe around 4 hours of play time, and would drain  when left in standby over the course of 5 days or so. I bought a replacement from Amazon, same spec, but it’s somehow worse - about 3 hours of play and bleeds out in standby over the course of 3 or 4 days. Is this normal? Is it possible I’ve been unlucky and got a dodgy battery? The seller on Amazon has lots of positive reviews and seem legit, but I’m not sure if I should be causing a fuss or not.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, yes. 3DS has one of the worst battery life I have ever had in a handheld. Barely lasts a day in standby. It's always on charge when I'm playing through something on it.

Got my original Cosmos Black 3DS out yesterday. I've always looked after it and haven't exactly blasted it over the years (I bought it new too so it's always been mine) but I noticed something weird going on with the d-pad, almost as if an outer layer or "skin" is starting to peel off around the edges?!? It's not terrible (yet...) but it's just a bit weird. Is this normal for the OG 3DS model?

Not saying that this has occured through sitting idle, mind. I've just probably not noticed it until now.

The rubbers do seem to perish on some pieces of hardware. PS3 SixAxis controllers are awful. Mine had been carefully stored in a room temperature drawer for a few years where they were perfect when they went in. Came back to them and it looks like someone has pritt stick'd a fistful of pubes to them.

The weird thing about the 3DS is that the d-pad seems to be solid solid plastic. Clearly it isn't/wasn't.

I know what you mean about rubber sticks though. I've had PS2 pads that look like the tops of the sticks are covered in slime after putting them away for a long time. I can only assume that it's a result of thumb/finger oils being left to sit.

Isopropyl alcohol can fix that - I had the same issue but a five minute effort with a cloth and they were back to normal.

I’ve now played (and completed) Super Mario 3D Land, NSMB2, TLoZ A Link Between Worlds, Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Metroid: Samus Returns. What an incredible system!

Anyway, I need a rec for what to play next. I’m keen to stick to the Selects range, because they’re only £16 on the eShop, and the next titles I’m eyeing up are Kirby Triple Deluxe, Paper Mario Sticker Star and Mario & Luigi: Dream Tram Bros, but not sure if these are actually any good. Open to any other recommendations though.
