I downloaded the trial on PS4, tried the Lancia in New Zealand but it just doesn’t feel right. The FFB just doesn’t convey the feeling of driving across a rough surface.

I then tried the original Dirt but with the Subaru Impreza, instantly felt more connected to the track so perhaps it’s the modern car and AWD vs the historic car, I’ll need to try like for like. One thing that did strike me though was how much more natural the graphics looked in the original (Wales).

The year one Pass is now £16 on PS4. Good knows why I bought it - I’m still terrible at the game!

Because it's amazing!  And the Colin DLC is due very soon, can't wait to try out the Scottish stages

Is anyone playing this regularly on the Steam version?  Would be nice to see some friends on the daily/weekly/monthly challenges, Steam ID is in my signature.

Super Deluxe Steam version is £12.99 on CDKeys, I’m very tempted with the McRae content on the way but just not sure if I’ll get on with it.

Btw are the leaderboards not cross platform?

Yeah, but you can't see players' names from other platforms (they just show as something like 'Dirt Player') and obvs there's no way to add someone who's on Playstation as a friend on Steam etc.

Hmm that’s a shame, I wonder why they can’t at least show names.

Probably something like different standards in naming conventions (can't have sweary names on some platforms etc) and also because of potential duplicate names?

Doubt it, weren't you one of the guys who used to thrash me in the Dirt Rally leagues?!

No I don’t think so but I’ll do my best to improve, I’ll probably concentrate on the McRae content first once that comes out as I’m really looking forward to that. So far, Argentina seems rock hard lol and Poland fast!

Argentina is a nightmare but it's defo satisfying to improve there, mega soft suspension and short gears are necessary.  Poland is a lot of fun, I'd soften the suspension a bit there as well, or the fast bumps can throw you around all over the place.

If you want a recommendation for a stage to try though, Waimarama Point Forward in New Zealand is the best stage in the game for me.  Beautiful fast flowing road that's great in any car.

Cheers for tips, I also read on EG about the GTR Technical YouTube channel for setups so I’ll have a look there. Spent most of my time (not a lot as it was a 97GB download) in the Historic Rally in New Zealand with Mini so far.

Can’t quite decide where to map my handbrake, so far I’m using H-Shifter for gears with handbrake mapped to paddle, can’t remember what I did in DR1, thought I had it mapped to a button but that doesn’t seem right now as I keep losing track of it in hairpins where it’s needed.

I just use the button that's closest to my right thumb for handbrake, but I'm a heathen and I don't use H-pattern/clutch, just sequential gears.  Don't you use the paddles for gear changes on more modern cars?

New DLC is amazing btw, I think the Scottish stages might end up being my favourite.  Loving the Subaru Legacy too.

Yep I would do for more modern cars, it’s screwing with my mind anyway as I keep handbraking rather than changing gears as swapping between this F1 and ACC. Think I’ll need to revert to a button.

I spent ages on the first McRae stage with the Mini last night, great fun (especially with H-shifter ^_^), I then tried the Cossie and crashed a lot!

I adored Dirt Rally and picked it up on PS4, then Xbox One when I moved across to that and once again last year on PC. It's always played and looked great but on PC on full settings?

I've held off on Dirt 2.0 as I was still rinsing the PC version but I also heard some negativity towards the lack of content. Now that it's been out for awhile, it seems the content is all there and with Steam having the GOTY Edition on sale for £22, I'm ready to jump in!

However, does anyone know if the recently released Colin McRae DLC is the final bit of content or could more be lined up? I don't like to keep paying for more content, just like to jump in once and get it all.

Might give this a go.  Is there any element of online multiplayer with it?

My pal is stuck in lockdown over in the Netherlands so we've been doing lots of co-op or multiplayer stuff in VR ... mostly PC2 etc ... so keen to understand if there is anything multiplayer related.

Tried to do some digging myself but I couldn't get a clear answer.

Yep, you can create an online championship for that and race the stages at the same time via a lobby.  This page covers it pretty well:
