My resolve is weakening, Daily Deal @ £39.99. @McSpeed’s positivity is not helping either :).

Do it! :)

That said, we'll only be able to do online multiplayer rallycross races together on PS4.

Though there're always the (improvised) forum leaderboards for rallying of course.

Have you played it on a base PS4 or Pro? Does it hold up well on base PS4?

did anyone else get the deluxe version from cdkeys - if so can you play it now? according to the dirt rally twitter it should have unlocked at midnight ~2 hours ago. the code i got seems to be for the standard version as i can't play it yet and the dlc isn't showing up in steam :(

^ Looking on the steam forum, seems like we’re not alone. Emailed cdkeys, hopeful they’ll sort it.

I hope you get it sorted!  Let us know how you get on too, I'd be well up for playing it over the weekend.

The stage deformation from the video @djbhammer posted above looks great, I can't listen with sound at the moment so they may talk about this, but I hope it affects the handling as well as the visuals.

Edit - That Through the Ages video is amazing too, made me feel all joyful.

@Sharky - I bought the deluxe version at CDkeys. Cheaper by far, although my damn key hasn't dropped yet...

You up for doing some rallycross at some point mate?

I'll probably also set up a league for us to rally in, as I did with the first game.  Any interest?

Ah... same here. That'll be what I get for buying a cheap key.

cd keys emailed back saying they'd added a new code to the downloads link which will sort it out, which it did!

It does.

Apparently you really feel it pull you into the ruts. Though I got that info from the "gloved YouTube dickhead" I'm afraid :(

I've emailed cdkeys about this and they've said the issue is sorted, so I'm going in!  Did you get this resolved?

Edit - bought and activated.  Showing as pre-load for me too, so doesn't seem to be the deluxe edition.  Poor from cdkeys.

Very much up for the league again, cheers for this Sharks :)

Do pay close attention to posting all the parameters for a 'Custom Event' in the forum too, including stage degradation and service time and stuff.

Also, non-upgraded cars only I'd say?

I'm going to have to get this, aren't I.

On another note, I do like Jimmy Broadbent. His stuff is usually quite fun and informative, and he's pretty handy at driving sims too. Tuned into some of his enduro racing stuff over the years.

Jimmy is a great guy. Didn't really like his streams initially, but then I met him a while ago and had a great laugh. 'I'm just Jimmy', he says about the internet fame. Proper petrolhead too.

The racing gloves and shoes may be overdoing it a bit though they sort of make sense given the direct drive wheel and solid metal pedals like in real race cars. (I just stick to racing on socks.)

Not to mention the fact that just a few years ago he was unemployed and mentally in a deep pit. Kudos to Jim for turning that around!

Yeah I think his father died which was part of his difficult situation too :(

Also, he literally lives in a shed.

For me he combines Murray Walker's infectious excitement with a very un-Murraylike knowledge of what he's talking about!

I really want to go out and buy this and love it, especially now I own a wheel. A few things irritate me though :- deluxe version costing more to get 4 days early seems a bit scummy, paid dlc announced of locations that were in the first Dirt game, and not a massive lot of content to start with.

I know it’s about making money but I don’t like being reminded of it by these kind of things, the facade of developers and publishers being enthusiasts making a game about something they love falls away a bit with these kind of things.

On a plus side I’ve heard Sega Rally Revo mentioned a few times in reviews. I know it’s in relation to the track deformation and not the handling etc.  but just the mention has got me in the mood for a rally game.

I'm in the same boat, tempted by the deluxe edition but I don't like feeling like I'm being taken for a ride. It doesn't help that their stage comparison shots from the two games show DR1 on the lowest settings and DR2 on the highest . Come on, give us some credit.

IO showed how previous customers should be treated regarding previously sold content with Hitman 2.

Just had a quick go, first impressions aren't that great:

- Handling doesn't seem as involving as the first game, might be the switch from VR back to normal screen though.

- Co-driver pace notes are a huge step backwards, standard rally game stuff of stitched together calls, rather than pace notes recorded specifically for each stage as with DR.

- I'm experiencing badly flickering headlights on night stages too, tried a couple of cars and had the same issue.  Game isn't playable for me because of this, I'll need to investigate more tomorrow.

I hated the graphics to start with and also had flickering headlights (dust in the lights view?)

I found turning off the TAA in graphics settings made things way WAY better for me, at the cost of a bit of distance shimmer. Quite happy with it now graphically - much more like DR1.

I thought codemasters showed videos of stage recordings for the calls?   I have noted volume shifts though - perhaps editing changes?
