Weird how everyone pitches this as Fresh Prince but SERIOUS. If you look past the jokes the original series touched on some incredibly serious subject matter. There was the episode where Carlton got pulled over by the police just for being black (this could've been made this year, sadly) and the one where Will's Dad comes back for a bit and then leaves...again. Proper pulled on the heartstrings that one. :(

Most sitcoms have those moments that brings it back down to earth though don't they. They are both brilliant episodes.

That is some dodgy acting in the trailer. Not way this will be good.

That was a mock concept trailer, a project made by an amateur film maker/fan in 2019 and they've taken that concept and are planning to develop it into an actual series, the series itself hasn't been produced yet.

Exactly, I can't think of any sitcom that doesn't have the occasional episode that deals with more adult themes, it's a staple of the genre.

Casting

Like, rationally I think people upset at reboots need to get over it and I never thought I would have such raw emotional reactions to these recasting. But some of these feel like desecration. Uncle Phil, no. Geoffrey? No. Carlton. No. Hilary? No. Un-recastable roles. Legends of TV. I realise these are headshots, and meaningless, but still. Phil isn't the most handsome man in the room. He's just the best man in the room.

That said, Vivian looks perfect, which is both ironic, and makes sense.
