Swamp Thing

Recommended Posts

Another DC show coming soon. Derek Mears, who seems to play a lot of large men and monsters, is in the suit. Crystal Reed is the female lead, Abby Arcane, who is investigating the swamp. Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, your typical blind fortune teller with supernatural perceptions of the future. Ian Ziering is Hollywood has-been Daniel Cassidy, aka Blue Devil. Kevin Durand is Jason Woodrue, a brilliant, but villainous, scientist researching the swamp.

It begins on 31 May.

Well that’s a bit shit - looks like there will be 10 episodes instead of 13. Presumably they weren’t all stand alone episodes, wonder if they can tie it up in even a half decent way.

It doesn't seem to be just getting cut to 10, but stopping after 10 to rewrite an ending for the rest.

Its looking promising... 1st episode has some pretty cool graphic moments in it and its ot the right feel.... it'll will all hinge for me on Swamp Thing himself, how he moves and talks.... hopefully the supernatural aspects will start to play a large part...

I'd imagine at some point Constatine will have to make an appearance...

Or it could be this...

North Carolina promised a $40 million rebate to the production, but were then only able to deliver $14 million.. So they ended up a good third of their budget short..

I've got to wonder about the future of the DC Universe service after AT&T bought Warner. It feels like everything seems to be heading in a bad direction for the service, regardless of the quality of the shows.

In retrospect that was also responsible for the number of episodes being cut. What a fuck up.

All because someone misheard 14 as 40 over the phone.

It also knackers them going forward, they'll either be stuck with only doing future seasons of 8-10 episodes or it will just be cancelled as they've presumably spent money up front based on getting 13 eps for $80m, but will then have to produce the same for only $55m. Cutting a third of the budget of each episode doesn't seem possible.. especially as wages rise..

This has been added to Amazon Prime. Did anyone watch the whole first season, and does it end on a cliffhanger? If it does, I probably won't bother with it, due to it being cancelled. Although I might watch a couple of episodes out of curiosity.

Exactly what I came here to post. Anyone?
