You'll have bought from a third party seller, in that case. Hope you didn't pay over the RRP.

I paid the normal amount as it is being supplied by Amazon themselves and not a third party, it just seems odd they have such a long delivery time. Hopefully it's just a glitch and it will get to me sometime in the next few days.

I was playing a bit of Outrun last night and they've de-Ferrari'd the car.

I find it utterly fucking pathetic that they have to do this. I don't think they've just changed the badge either, it looks like they're slightly redesigned the back end of the car.

I suppose it's only a minor niggle but surely Ferrari have enough money to allow them to keep it accurate, just for the sake of history?

It annoys me that they have to do this just because it's a digital representation. You don't see them CGing the car in rereleases of Miami Vice or Magnum PI.

The car has been different from the original arcade Testarossa in pretty much every release of Outrun that I can remember, with the exception being the port included with Outrun 2.

I think Shenmue 2 was the first time I noticed, so can’t comment on the Saturn port. Even the Switch release is different.

But the original Megadrive release had the proper Testarossa.

Re Outrun and Ferrari licensing stuff…

interestingly (or not), the Arcade1up release of the Outrun cabinet has the Ferrari logo on the cab (steering wheel iirc) but behind a sticker you have to peel off. Presumably that’s to skirt around licensing somehow but obvs the manufacturers (Arc1up) have done this with full knowledge that it’s on there.

(the logo in game is gone btw)

Which begs the question… could Sega get around it by having the OG car locked behind some code?  That’s the code equivalent of a sticker no?

edit: alternatively a logo editor would be a nice work around though obvs probs way more work than it’s worth. (And you’d end up with pixelated cock and balls as logos of course).

outrun is included in outrun 2?

Have to say, the US/EU game list has some absolute blinders on there that are missing from the JPN release. Would be nice if your friendly neighbourhood hackers figured out a way to combine the sets and add them to these machines (and Snatcher, obvs).

I’m pretty sure it was only in Outrun 2 for Xbox which also had the tracks that included parts of Scud Race and Daytona 2.

I think so - I have C2C on my desktop and I don't think any of that is on there. Unless there's some code or something I've overlooked.

It's only in the original Xbox version of OutRun2, same with those SCUD Race and Daytona tracks.

It looks like this:

Note even there it's a modified version of the original arcade ROM, as the whilst the Testarossa is same as the original (thanks to the Ferrari licensing for OutRun2) some of the other traffic cars were modified to be a bit less Beetle, BMW convertable and Corvette.

Since they have to licence the car likeness does Call of Duty have to licence all the gun manufacturers and armoured vehicles?

Videogame which feature real life weapons have had the US war machine involved in their production, and should really be considered CIA propaganda in addition to anything else.

As a developer, if you want realistic guns on your game you have to also ensure that you're doing your bit to spread American imperial values.

Keeps going in and out of stock. Returns and cancellations maybe rather than extra stock?

Not a return - it’s definitely “New” and sold by Amazon themselves. The delivery date is a week away even with Prime so I would guess extra stock has become available and is being sold as quickly as it goes up.

The one I ordered last Friday is due to be delivered today so you shouldn't have to wait too long.

Woo! Me who cancelled two pre-orders already and only really wanted one when they became unavailable! Ah well.

Does a dongle exist that would let me use an 8BitDo wireless controller, does anyone know? I have the M30 (six-button MD clone) and love it for emulators, would be great if I could use it on the Mini.
