Nothing??

Blimey, you do have high standards as you've passed over some classics such as Mario Kart, Prince of Persia, Beyond Good & Evil........

..I ended up getting PoP and Beyond Good and Evil on the PS2, I couldnt be arsed to import them

And that's fair enough - but it means you can hardly wail about there being nothing available for your GC now can you?

Yes he can, because it'd be true.

Honestly, the knee-jerk reactions to people commenting even slightly negatively on the amount of play-time their Gamecubes get is really pathetic.

Tsk, tut, etc.

SPOILER! I wonder if they'll try to explain some, uh, minor inconsistencies left over from the original... like how Master Miller changed from African-American to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtle-American without Snake noticing.

As for the length, I could play MGS ten times and still find it immensely fun- the new gameplay stuff and improved AI they've thrown in will make my "experiments" with the guards even more interesting... bwa ha ha...

How is it true though? He said "nothing" had come to GC that interested him since Viewtiful Joe...and then admitted to buying both PoP and BG&E - both titles available on the GC. Sure it's his call to buy them for PS2, but it's plain wrong to ignore the fact that they are available (as superior versions I may add) on GC.

Tsk, tut, etc. yourself ;)

So the highly praised original MGS was short and shallow?

And this from somebody who thinks virtual pinball is great.

Flipnic is a bit more exciting than virtual pinball, and it is great, at £10

It is short and shallow in my opinion, i've played it recently. I wasn't into gaming when it first came around but I appreciate it had the VR missions to seriously bulk out the gameplay making the best use of the slick looking but clumsy and simple playing mechanism. It also had the big story all in fairly decent voiceovers and cutscenes, which had not been done before so everybody must have fallen in love with it? I'm just being realistic rather than nostalgic, and offering my opinion

Yes.

Now, I don't know about you, but personally, games that I've already got are significantly less INTERESTING to me than games that I haven't.

wtf? What's that got to do with the price of daffodils?

I'm not arguing his right to buy games for whatever platform he wants to. I'm arguing that you can't complain there is "nothing of interest" to buy on your poor old GC one minute, and then pop down the shop and buy a multi-platform PS2/XBox/GC release the next.

Realistically?

MGS is superb. Always and forever.

Yes he can, fanboy.

If you already have an Xbox, say, which generally gets the best of the multi-format versions, why buy a GC if not for the exclusives?

I am in the exact same situation of getting GC on import months ago and nothing of interest coming up since. Like many, I bought a GC JUST for the exclusives.

The VR missions didn't add anything to the game though, so thier inclusion or non-inclusion is almost irrelevant. They were just there in the original. They weren't intergrated into the game itself like they were in Headhunter.

Obviously, I would rather they were included. I enjoyed them a lot. But the main game itself is strong enough to justify fort... twenty five pounds of anyone's money. (Fool be he who pays RRP )

Are you incapable of working your head around such a simple concept as 'interest'?

If he's got two games on another platform, then there is no interest for the GC versions of those games, therefore his comment is totally factually accurate in that there is 'nothing that interests' him on that platform.

There must be some kind of trigger in your Nintendo-obsessed head that clicks and automatically translates that into "TEH NINTENDO HAVE NO GOOD GAMES EVAR!!!11" or something, I really don't know.

For the record, I've bought nothing for my Gamecube since before Christmas either, because - funnily enough - nothing on it has interested me. (I have PoP on PS2 - oooh, Nintendo must be teh shitz0rr!!11).

Again, tsk and tut. Some people need to get off the defensive all the time!!!

It was quite compelling as a complete package I must admit, but a short and simple one, one that even with 'fancy' 3 year old graphics makeover should be at a lower price point. Gregory Horror Show is £10, priced as such because it's quite short, why shoudn't a remake of MGS be the same?

Im Sorry should I have posted something like,

"nothing has appealed to me since - except Beyond Good and Evil, Prince Of Persia and other multiformat games that I have already stupidly purchased and completed on other inferior (non nintendo) systems"

I honestly cant believe I get a reaction like this for purely stating the simple fact that I havent brought anything for my GC for a long period of time. I never said there werent quality games on the system, its just that the recent releases (e.g. F-Zero, Billy Hatcher, Mario Kart, 1080, Donkey Konga etc) either havent appealed or have taken a backseat to other Games on other systems.

What would you prefer I do, lie?

It was quite compelling as a complete package I must admit, but a short and simple one,

10+ hours for me. That's the first time.

I played it through to completion 11 times in total, and mastered the VR missions fully. It's therefore probably one of the best value-for-money games I've ever owned.

Gregory Horror Show is £10, priced as such because it's quite short, why shoudn't MGS be the same?

How 'short' is Gregory Horror show, then?

How can you not understand!!

Look, if he wants to buy the games on format X that's his decision. Christ, I buy stuff routinely for my XBox as I presume it to be the best version. But, that doesn't change the fact that if I am interested in a game like BG&E, it's available for all three formats. BG&E, a game he was interested enough in to purchase, was available for PS2/XBox/GC.

So tell me, how can you explain the following (which is what you are apparently trying to do while throwing fanboy accusations at me):

I am not interested in BG&E (GC)

I am interested in BG&E (PS2)

Obviously once you have bought the game for your PS2, you are not going to go out and buy it again for your GC. But, it doesn't change the fact that it was a game you were interested in, and it was an option to buy it on the GC.

Christ, get over your unatural urge to label me a fanboy and you might see my point.
