I was hoping to set a quali time even though I can't race, but it's been loooong working days and nights for me this week. I shall think of you while I'm on the way back from the end of it tonight! Have a good race.

Yeah :)  UK time.  The simracing.gp event always shows in your local time though, I think.

...that would've been the obvious solution, yeah. Good thing I'm such a brain in the morning :D

@Yannik Most of us use the 'Voice Comms' Discord channel to chat during the race.  There's not usually much chat during the race itself (it's very respectful in that sense) aside from in-race chatter when lapping people etc.   Just be sure to use 'push to talk' so we don't hear any shift 'clacking' :D.  But we're usually chatting before and after the race which is cool :)

@SharkyOB we did a Imola endurance race some time ago in the Nissan where I tried to make a setup that wouldnt die when touching kerbs. Try this, it handles very differently compared to aggressive preset and you might like it. I turned couple of laps to fix pressures for Monza and did a 1:48 with some mistakes and wrong pressures, so it should have potential for very fast laptimes. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wOrpbEVkFE_k_k_Ty3zHXcWFhC0s5k5a/view?usp=sharing

Finally managed to set a time this afternoon (just about got into the 1:58s)! It's definitely a quick setup, but I'm finding it's pretty on the edge and it's very easy to spin the car if I'm not super accurate with how I touch the curbs in the Lesmos and the chicanes. I think that might show that I've been too conservative with my previous setups and I probably need to try to get used to a car that's more on the nose. Gonna defo use this for the race and see how I get on.

Would you be able to talk me through the changes you made to arrive at this setup at some point? I'd really like to improve my ability to diagnose and fix issues in the car's handling.

Yeah why not. We can have a setup evening or I will write something about it. Some things are very personal though and what works for me may or may not work someone else :)

Gents. apologies all round.

I think I managed to ruin the race for at least 3 or 4 others tonight, and I'm truly sorry.

It's not good enough, the standard here keeps getting better and my practice / quali times get better, and I practice more and more, then its race night. And I go back to being an arse.   Twice in one night is fucking shocking . 3 times in a season is unforgiveable.

I need to hit a lot of public lobbies and just get this out of my system. Funnily enough even in the public races this doesnt happen either ! I might try some more simracing.gp races. The standard isn't as high as here.

Genuinely not an issue if I take a ban for the start of next season. As much as I love this game, you have no idea how I feel watching someone go spinning off because i fucked up (again)

Feel for you @mrben09.  I love racing with you and enjoy our chuckles together.  Don't let it get you down - we know you're not doing it on purpose.

I was one of your casualties on lap 1.  I think you collected a couple of us in a shunt at the chicane.  Annoyingly it damaged my rear end enough that at almost every corner after, the back end just stepped out even the lightest of braking - I span 2 or 3 times.  So I had to pit on about lap 3 for repairs.  And then my pit strategy filled my car up with 50 litres of fuel I didn't need, so I came back out with 100 litres or so, the car was heavy, handled like a barge and my tyres got way too hot.   I then plodded round doing 1.52+ laps for 2/3rd of the race.

For my last pitstop I got new tyres and the car came alive again.  So I pushed a bit - and then stupidly straddled the final exit curb at Ascari (which I said, in my last post was a BAD IDEA) and got launched into the barrier.  Massive wreck.  Forced to pit - took a minute to repair, and then pottered round for one more lap as the leaders finished the race.

Not an evening to remember really.

Annoyingly the autogenerated replay video is really short this week...  doesn't seem to have much of the action at all.  Very odd.   It'll be up shortly...

I had a decent start, but in just a few laps my tyres were starting to be way overpressured and overheat. And I even lowered pressures 2 click at the start, in anticipation of mid day being hotter than 10 am conditions! It was like driving on ice for 35 or so laps and I was consistently a full second slower than I had been in practice, even in hotter conditions but with better pressures. I destroyed my tyres sliding all over the place. I was sweating watching Santos more or less maintain gap to me, trying to not make a mistake myself.

I think I was lapping @EuroVapeSim2 when I braked on the white line and maybe on grass too for final corner. Had I had slower reflexes it would have put me in the wall there, lucky! In the end I managed to keep her on the track to finish P1.

Thank you @davejm and everyone else for a great and clean series. Lets hope we will have even more and happier drivers in the future.

PS the fastest lap is mine, Santos cut the first chicane :P

Ditto! 😆

Thanks to everyone for taking part, another great season in the bag.  Looking forward to the next one!

On a different tack, it's trophy time.

For our new participants this is light hearted Most Improved Driver Award solely chosen by me which captures some of the more funnier moments of the season.

Our new sponsor for this season is Velux after @SharkyOB had a real life rain caused track excursion earlier this season.

All old sponsors will be left on this magnificent trophy to tell the rich tapestry of RLLMUK ACC history when this appears in a time capsule some time in the future.

This season's winner is @Erik. I'm sure he was a good driver when he came here so maybe Most Improved is stretching it a bit. However, seeing as he won everything else, he might as well take this as well, so we don't have to collect everything back from multiple people for next season !

@Valver was a close second, and after "the incident" last night, sentimentality nearly got him it.

Well done all ,we race on to the next season. I have some major house work going on, but I managed to secure a small piece of space to set the rig up in, so I'm already looking forward to it.

Here are the results and final league table.  It's not counting Yannik's points from Monza in the leaderboard for some reason; but I'm no Excel guru (just stepping in for Meers on the spreadsheet duties!) :D

Well done to @Erik for the league win.  It's been great to have you with us; especially with how friendly and helpful you are to everyone with setup tips, game insights etc.  @SANtoOos showed some great pace at various points (are you now even faster in VR?! :D).  Congrats on @SneakyNinja for getting third place; a great result that your consistency rewarded.

I hope @Yannik enjoyed his first race with us too.

I sure did! The early stages were especially fun, battling with @SharkyOBand @EuroVapeSim2. Unfortunately spun right before my first pit stop because of that Ascari kerb (you know the one), decided to change tires because my pressures were through the roof already and had a great middle stint because of it. Once the temps dropped, so did my pressures though, and since I opted not to change tires again, I was struggling a bit towards the end. I'm happy that I still came 5th, however.

Again, thanks for having me on such short notice! Even though my race got a bit lonely after the first pit stop, it was still a fun evening. Hope to see you on the track again soon!

Dave, Im missing 3 points 😁

In the future I want to get more involved in practice sessions too and also drive more in AC.

Next weeks Saturday we will have a big 10 hour race driving gt4 Ginetta around Silverstone and I will need to dedicate some evenings to practice for that, but I can try to give my opinions and tips to finding speed. For Sharky we need to find his next car and dedicate an evening to getting to grips with it.

Cool we'll get Meers to take a look at the points when he gets back just so we can iron out issues with the spreadsheet; but for next season I'm going to just have the one series on SGP and then just double up the points for the endurance races.  So the points can get tracked on there I think.

I think we should all have a car change for next season.  I'm thinking of taking the Aston or McLaren; but I'm going to have a few laps in each car I think before picking one.

3rd? Really? That's a genuine surprise. I'll take it though :)

Well done @Erik - A fantastic performance. No idea how you do that.

Thanks again @davejm for sorting all this out. The 'muk ACC league is the best online experience I've ever had, and has reaffirmed my love of racing.

@mrben09 - Don't be so hard on yourself, it's all part of racing. But I know how you feel....

@winky - REALLY sorry for clattering into you under blue flags on the penultimate lap. I was distracted by the growing cramp in my right foot, missed my braking point and couldn't avoid you. I hope you weren't too damaged.

Car change for next season eh? I might go back to the 911 that I used for the first season... hopefully it won't try and kill me so much now I've had some practice..

Congrats on the championship @Erik extremely consistent and fast driving throughout!

I don't know what's up with me and Monza, didn't enjoy the race at all:( car felt terrible and was sliding all over the place, what I love about racing sims is the feeling of getting in the zone and forgetting you're driving a game, Monza is so broken up and awkward I couldn't get that at all. Its weird, I like pretty much all tracks and can usually find  enjoyment in a race, even when things go bad. Sorry, have to vent, may need therapy to resolve my issues with this track.

Having said that, enjoyed the season very much, great hanging out and racing with you guys. Up to speed in VR and my most memorable races were the ones when my computer crashed and I had to start from the back. Racing people side by side in VR is incredible!

Once again top job making this happen @davejmand excellent spreadsheet and meme skills @Meers

Congrats to the winners and racers! Wish I could've made it to more races this season. @Erik it has been my honour to hold the Nibbits(tm) Velux(r) Most Improved Driver Driver Trophy over the past [some] months and I know you'll be a worthy recipient who treats it with the appropriate respect and gravity.

It was quite the knock and caught me by surprise, I was really worried that I had done something wrong. It totalled my car which I had to limp back to pits on last lap under black flag but never affected my position. My race was over after I spun out at Lesmo 2.

This happened multiple times and every  time Erik was behind me, there were also reports of red turtle shells on the track … not accusing anyone but makes you think …

You are all so fast and it’s amazing that you can all have small chit chat when driving, I cannot speak because I am at the limits of my mental stack.

Aww crap, really sorrier now. :(

You did nothing wrong. I need to check the replay to see how I screwed up. I saw you ahead as we approached T1 and was intending to pass at some point during the lap. I had no pressure from behind and was just trying to finish the race.

Next thing I know, I brake at what I thought was the usual place (around the 170m mark for me, I can't brake for toffee) but I must have missed my mark because no way was I stopping in time and before I could react I'd hit you.

Like I say, not your fault at ALL and I wasn't intending to pass there. A lesson learnt, and hope to see you on track - without contact - next season.

Oh - and the chatting thing.. you and me both. I can barely talk when I drive as I distract myself.
