Yeah sorry again @Valver I had been looking forward to mixing it with you too as I felt I had the lap time pace to get by. If it’s any consolation, karma sorted me out pretty aggressively.

No worries, don't sweat it, no real harm done.

good, then I can say it looked from my angle like you’d practically stopped dead in the corner entrance 🤬

It was not the expected race but I am happy with the result! A 12 to begin with is not so bad seeing the level you have, you are very fast!

Regarding the incidents, I want to apologize to @Willmill and @batistutauk for a small touch in the first round without much importance, I will try not to repeat it!

The summary of my career is that a car spun when hitting another in the last corner and it was impossible for me to see it and avoid it by breaking the car and having to forcibly enter the pits to repair the car on lap 6, which has weighed down everything my career.

I have also been very solid and have not made mistakes apart from being very slow compared to you haha

Thanks to all and especially to the google translator!

Yeah what a track! @texlex45hope you sort out your connection gremlins, it's a horrible feeling when it cuts out :(

A bit frustrating to lose the lead as it felt I drove pretty well and probs made the least mistakes ever, but like @Erikpointed out my pace dropped off after the pitstops (that always happens to me in the endurance races) ... It's probably to do with not overinflating the tyres at the start to deal with the drop in temps and not being able to get them back in operating range after the stop so need to sort that. Slightly overfueled as well, so gonna give that fuel overlay app a go! At the end of the day, couldn't have done much better tonight, so 2nd is pretty decent, as I would have expected Tex to finish ahead as well. Really enjoyed getting in the zone there! And no PC crashes so VR seems stable. Congrats Erik for pulling off that splash and dash strategy and recovering well from that incident!

@mrben09 you look pretty hard done by from about 2’16 in those highlights, damn.

5’14 to see me get airborne when I had one of my traction trouble moments and tried straddling a sausage as I got out of it. Stunt driving! Fairly impressed with myself that I actually held on to that one.

Bed now, story later!

My name is still wrong Meers - Alastair if you don't mind 🙂

Also, looking at the simgrid results table Daniel Witschi seems to have the fastest lap with a 01:41:925 - so I think the extra points need looking at @davejm?  (does it show fastest laps even if they are invalid?)

Oops, sorted.  The extra points for pole and fastest lap aren't automatic, I have to manually add them so got the fastest lap one wrong.  Well spotted!

It wasn't the best sequence of events I have ever experienced. That said I could not get anywhere near the consistent performance I was getting during the week. But getting round that corner would have maybe gained me 3 more places in the end.

Sorted your name mate, sorry. In my defence - it was late when I updated the sheet.

The pole and fastest laps are added as well now.

Also it’s got WillMill’s forum and real names swapped. And my car number is 42 not 4. Apart from all that, nice job @Meers 😉

Also sorted. Excel doesn't like sorting 4 colums (3 is the max I think) so that's where it went

Also @daifuco, what is your racing number?

And @DjScream3, are you planning to use your full name?

Had some great racing against @SharkyOB @Meers & @Valver

Yeah, really enjoyed our battles last night!  Sorry I was having to brake so early though, I honestly couldn't brake any later as I was trail braking right to the apex as it was, but I could see how much everyone was closing on me in the braking zones so hopefully I can sort that out and it's not just the car.

I need to stop making contact with sharky in the races, it's becoming a bad habit of mine.

No worries mate, I was really aware of my braking issues so I knew exactly why it had happened.  After the first lap carnage where I sideswiped you in the confusion I deserved everything I got 😅

A scrappy night for me, just couldn't get comfortable with the car as I have done in the past at Kyalami and certain parts of the track (the esses and sausage curve mainly) were a lottery on pretty much every lap.  Not sure why I was feeling so out of sorts, need to practice more I think and defo pay more attention to the conditions we'll be facing in the race.  Still, some great racing last night and the turn out was awesome!  Bring on next week 😍

So I did disappear towards the end of the race. I'm going to test out using my mobile data for a couple practice sessions and see how it does, maybe it's better than my home WiFi, I know my phone is faster.

So I wasn't seeing things after all! You were completely gone from the game, leaderboard included. So assuming you crashed, I started to take it a bit easier which apparently allowed you to overtake me. Hence I quipped "where did you spring from?!"

Ishn't dat wierd?!

I'm on a wired 500Mbit connection, so I think it wasn't on my end this time. Sorted my wires out recently too.

Morning guys.  Some info about the SGP community and how things are now set up:-

  • The community is free for anyone to join (any member of SGP, that is)
  • Any member can join and register for 'open' events; which we'll organise from time to time
  • The league race events are now 'closed'
    • You'll be added to these events by an admin (I'll do it when I create the events)
    • Please cancel registration for any event that you can't make (otherwise it will appear as a 'no show' on your driver profile)
    • You can change car if I've got it wrong!
  • I've created a new 'open' event for the next mid-season break (1st July)...
    • This is a multi-class race @ Suzuka
    • https://beta.simracing.gp/events/ax_j5fi8TAyoCQaSAnLPh
    • You'll need to register for this event manually (as I won't know what class & car you want to use!)
    • It will be a 1.5 hour Endurance with 2x mandatory pit-stops
    • Qualifying will be based on timings set on the practice server in the week leading up to the event
    • I'll be reaching out to invite members of the PowerQ community to this race.  With the SGP community being; barrier to entry is much easier and I won't have to create registration forms etc.
    • It'd be good if you could register now so that numbers for the event look healthy for when sharing off-forum.  You can change the class & car at any time; so don't worry if you're not sure.  Just choose register and choose any car for now.

@Count Buffalos I've added you to the remaining league/series events; but let me know if you can't make any and I'll remove you.  Or the same as anyone else if you can't make any of these events you can just cancel registration yourself.

@jonathanhoey I haven't added you to any of the closed league events; but if you feel like joining us at any time let me know and I'll add you to these events.

I sort of just ended up on the outside of you because of what happened in front, I got away without damage so no hard feelings.

There's your problem then. I'm with Ziggo, so far they've been excellent and I've been with them since they took over Essent's @Home ISP.

Here's their offers. I'm on 600Mbit now apparently.

incredible having 18 cars going on, what a race. That's very unlucky @texlex45. I somehow turned in a PB for qualifying for fourth, felt like @SneakyNinja in disguise!

Aye, guilty as charged. I was in the 1:44's all week, then pulled a 1:42 out of the bag on the day. Again, no idea how. I did save the replay of my 0.8s improvement so I'll take a look and share it if I find anything useful.

Great win @Erik - well done on another stellar performance. I'll happily take 3rd place even if was due to the misfortune of others rather than my pace. (Seems to be my MO - sneak about, avoiding issues and quietly hoover up points.)

What a group of people, and what a game!

I've never experienced anything like it, and I've been sim-racing online for eons. Starting from 8th (pretty good quali considering the competition I'm up against) and witnessing the entire field thunder towards the first corner was an epic sight to behold! Especially now that I managed to get ACC to run in 1440p60, I have never before had this game perform so well on my laptop. And I am so glad that I'm more competitive as a result of my RAM upgrade. :D

Absolutely amazing times! And I'm not even playing in VR yet, I can only imagine what that's like.

Oh man, I'd love that! The mrs and I are still looking for somewhere to go on honeymoon, and we were looking at the UK for that. So far Scotland is tickling our fancy but we might decide to tour around and visit you guys as well. Thank you for the invitation! :D

I'm not a stranger to the UK either, been there plenty of times, even went to a Rllmuk Bath meet! I just don't speak the language. :P

I feel like I'm imagining the massive whack I took now because it doesn't show up in the replay.

The highlights do miss a fair bit, if the actual time you think it happened isn't on show in them? I set mine to record an hour replay automatically, sometimes I like to go back and check incidents. Usually to go "ah, hm, yes, probably my fault that" and so on. Also cool battles that weren't deemed a highlight by the AI, like me and Dave going side-by-side a fair bit this time.

Yes, the way ACC auto picks the moments for the highlights reel is a bit odd at times.  It will frequently show the leader passing a backmarker, while ignoring a battle for position or collision further down the pack.  And events I know I want to see are often missing.  Shame there isn't more user control over what goes in them.

As @milko says, set your game to autosave the replays, and you can watch back the incidents that way...
