There are about 5 billion decisions they've made in any sim for the reasons for fun over realism. Not deleting the game forever when you crash hard and die for instance, allowing auto gears, not making you wait 12 hours on a plane when you change from Sebring to Sepang.

Pit lane speed limits are there only for real world safety. They should be disableable in a sim where all they serve to do outside *MAYBE* of a race is to make things less fun, especially in a 5 mile pit lane like Spa.

I understand your point, and I share your sentiment about the length of the Spa pit lane and that it could have been shorter in this sim, but to say they should disable the pit speed limit in games like this would take away from the experience. I think you'll find that we already have Project Cars 3 for that. Omitting pit stops and everything that goes with it (which is part of the fun) is like cutting off Super Mario's legs because they make him jump (which is part of the fun).

Pit lane speeds are part of the sport. But the massive orange blocks that are lined up along the pit exit on the Spa track are just arbitrary bullshit.

So I've edited my car livery in the pretty limited in-game editor. I've also had a quick search for more comprehensive editing options, which look to be horribly complicated. Has anyone edited a livery out of game? I noticed that Valver has an amime livery on his Merc, which presumably isn't an in game option. I've also read conflicting opinions on whether other players are able to see fully customised liveries or not - can anyone confirm this?

I assume Valver's livery is in-game.  At the moment there's no obvious way to have fully custom ones unless all other drivers download the liveries (for other drivers) to their local machines, but on multiplayer servers this causes stuttering issues when people join the servers as it loads them in.  I've seen talk of having the liveries saved 'server' side, but I've not seen any way to do it and I had a try myself without any success.

Correct - that anime one is a default livery (amazingly).    It wasn't immediately obvious to me, but some of the teams and liveries are "off to the right" on the selection screen, so you have to scroll to see the additional ones.

Now you're just being silly.  Maybe bring that lovely, sunny disposition of yours to our league races; it's just possible we might be able to turn that frown upside down.

Yeah, that happens anyway but it's a lot worse when loading any custom liveries apparently.

Is that what's causing it?

Right. Custom liveries are hereby banned on our server. :quote:

And Kunos really need to address the stuttering-when-entering-a-server thing. How long ago has ACC been released?

We're talking full custom liveries of the type downloaded from Race Department here are we?  Not the ones created with the editor in game?

Yes!  Don't worry guys, we're talking about the custom liveries that you'd have to download and then put onto your PC.  The in-game custom liveries are fine and don't cause any additional stuttering (over and above the stuttering that always happens regardless) when entering the server.

Let's discuss a follow-up series. What would you like to see or suggest? Team racing? Solo? Sprint only? Endurance only? Or mixed like we're doing now?

Personally, I'd love to do some team endurance racing. It involves a fixed teammate, but also a fixed brand of car. You can exchange setups and help each other out in other ways. 1 hour long races with a 20 minute quali prior.
