I've sent out an email to registered members of the simracing.gp community to drum up interest for the multi-class race at the end of August.  I know this is some time away, but could I ask the regulars to register for the event, just so we can get it as fully populated as possible for any cross-community reach outs that I do?  Even if you're not sure to be racing, please register for now if you can.

I've signed up for this in the Ferrari 488 GT3, looking forward to trying out a new car and I've never driven Suzuka so a new track for me as well.

I cancelled my registration for the bremgarten races tonight, I got my second vaccination yesterday and feeling rough today. maybe if I'm feeling better later I'll jump into the second race.

The Ferrari is super slippery around Suzuka.  Some tips; the EVO variant has really aggressive throttle maps and the car is designed to run at relatively high levels of TC (TC5 is recommended, even when dry).  I believe the default aggressive presets were carried over from the non-EVO variant.  It is worth bumping up the engine map to the most aggressive (it gave me noticeable gains) but if you do that, set those TC and TC2 values to 5.  I run ABS at 4 in the dry.

Suzuka is slippery and very abrasive. It destroys tyres even quicker than Silverstone, Zandvoort or Paul Ricard. edit: also in ACC cars use 2018/2019 tyres there that are less durable than 2020 tyres

I'm feeling better as the day is going on, ibuprofen really helped the aches. Waking up this morning all I wanted to do is sleep all day.

Thanks for the tips, I've signed up in the EVO variant for now but will try out both versions and change if I feel I'm quicker with one over the other.

I've not adjusted any engine maps when driving the Aston, I'll have to look into them for the Ferrari. I have plenty of time before the race to understand the car.

@Erik is it your Silverstone Endurance today?  If so, good luck.   Is it the RCI one?

Yeh it is, event starting in 2 hours. Not many cars in our class, I guess people refuse to drive anything but GT3, but 10 hours in traffic should be interesting.

Well I had a go - and found the Porsche to be a reluctant dance partner!

After two laps or so I found the front tyres were ridiculously under pressure and offered hardly any grip (using the aggressive pre-set).  I had to fill them with a LOT of air to get any sort of stick to them.  I'm still at the stage of randomly gaining half a second on any given corner as I mess with lines and entry speeds.  I think the best lap I managed was about 2.01.  I can see online that Cup times at the ring are frequently in the 1.57s, so there's a lot more work to be done!

Nice one mate, gives me something to aim for when I give it a go.  Looking forward to getting back into ACC.

Yeah well they didnt. We were taken out multiple times by gt3s and spent minutes doing repairs. 10 hours of dodge the GT3 or be in the wall. In final 30 min I stopped evading dive bombers and had 6 more contacts and 3 overtake me on the grass on the outside. Dirty even by the Nurb 24 h champion, again.

P5 still but it could have been worse. 3 cars were DQ'd, 2 before race even started, and I dont want to know how much worse it would have been with them.

Just had to restart the server as the software updated.  Think a couple of peeps were on.

The session timing was slightly out too, 10am rather than 2pm so that's sorted now.  So if you've done some setups and sorted tyre pressures etc will need to adjust.

Is this the Cup Suzuka race? I’ve lost touch a bit I think!

This week is a Porsche Cup race at Nurburgring.

The Suzuka race is a multi-class race (GT3 or GT4) at the end of August, which is a week before the start of the new league season.

It took me about 18 laps to get that one valid one. I did hit 2.00.xx once but put a tiny bit of my wheel over the line and invalidated it in a silly place. At least that gives me hope! The car is amazing, such a lot of noises going on.

I need to sort out my jerky inputs.  The lack of TC needs smoother steering and pedal application, and I'm just not there yet.   It doesn't matter if I'm pushing or trying to take it easy, I still invalidate laps far too easily due to losing the steering or being too heavy footed.

Without a doubt a car that needs a lot of patience 😄

Anyone managed to get the front tyres into a green temp window? Have tried all the tricks in the book (negative toe, lower brake ducts, high camber) but nothing gets em into that nice window.
